So, I love the looks of my aftermarket shift knob but I'm pretty sure that if I unscrewed it, it would float away. It is suuuuper light. Which, admittedly, I didn't know made a difference until I drove with my stock shift knob on and experienced how much smoother the shifts were. I've been trying to figure out how I can weigh down my aftermarket knob, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of info on this topic (that I could find). The only thing I saw was a forum where they suggested pouring molten lead into the bottom of the knob, and I don't think that would work with wood. Any suggestions?

TWM shift knobs weigh 1lb. You'd definitely notice that and you won't even need your own smelter and hazmat suit.

What about working with the shift knob I have now? Would it have the same effect to somehow put the weight on the actual shifter, underneath the shift boot?
