I tried it once it was a cannuba wax blend but I found that it left a white residue around the edges.

I use Meguiars also

step 1 :Wash: 2 bucket method with Gold Class shampoo
Step 2 :claybar
Step 3 : Ultimate compound to remove imperfections
Step 4 :Ultimate Polish to revive and nurish the paint
Step 5 : Nxt wax to finish

I do this twice year as a total restoration and wax as needed. The car gets washed every 1-2 weeks regardless

My long time friend Eric used to work at Griots so there's a large supply of their car care products here.
Car wash, Speed Shine, Spray On Wax, paint prep, rubbing compounds, polishes, new car smell spray, we got it all.
Stuff works like a charm.

IIRC, Griots, Mothers and Meguiars are all SOCAL companies. I stick with Mothers or Mequiars most of the time, sometimes Eagle 1.

I have a PorterCable 7424 I received as a gift about 2 years ago. I have still not bought the foam pads for it. I need to figure that out, get some clay bar and give my car a proper refresh.

I would check out the meguiars forums. They have got to be one of the most open forums out there . Tell them your equipment and they will tell you all you will ever want to know including other brands besides Meguiars.

Griot's is not a Socal company. They're based out of Tacoma, WA.

the only meguiars product i use is the hot rims mag & aluminium polish. awesome on unpainted rims
i clean it once a week or every 2 weeks with arexons products.
i never did a perfect car detail cause the car need a re-paint, i polished and waxed it 3 times in 2 years

Meguiars. Mothers is second in line. Working at a Laguna Beach detail shop has it's perks, I get to clean my car with soft water whenever I want for free!

Where in Laguna Beach? I would love to have my '92 clayed and polished. I'm in Aliso Viejo.

I'm on Laguna Canyon Road (133 turns into Broadway, then Laguna Canyon Road as it nears PCH).

So far the 2 best waxes I have used on the Miata have been AutoGlym HD, And Megs Ultimate Paste. Polish is almost always Megs Ultimate Polish. The Zymol Cleaner works decent on it, from what ive found if you follow the Zymol directions (mist with water) for a final rub down, you dont get white residue. Try to atleast wash and wax once every 1-2 weeks. I hate how quickly the red turns to pink.

I use Mothers Clay Bar to start then several layers of Liquid Glass.
