Well as I was removing the leaky freeze plugs I realized that I need to flush the coolant passages of this engine block as it is full of gunk/rust from using a poor mix. The prior owner probably was using tap water I'm guessing lol. Anyhow I am trying to seek some options if I can do this in my garage as I don't want to do a full rebuild. So far this what I have gathered.
1. Bring the block to the machine shop and have it bathed/flushed.
2. Use this? http://www.ultraoneusa.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=10&cat=Safest+Rust+Remover
Any other suggestions? Thanks
BTW here is how it looks....
