The server has been painfully slow for me yesterday and especially today. So bad that I am not even attempting to navigate the forum right now. Other sites etc. are loading at normal rates.

I've been experiencing some extreme slowness on these forums and have not been receiving notification of PM or thread subscriptions. Any clue on what's been going on? The site definitely was running much better than this and no it's not my internet connection.

I've been trying to get in for 9 minutes now (while siting in a meeting) to post this same thing. forum is not usable right now.

Not getting notification of thread subscriptions or PM like I normally do has been a major pain too.

We're aware of it as well and sometimes, things are happening in the background like backups that affect performance for users. A new thread every time the forum slows down doesn't serve much but thank you.

I wish we could blame it on something like the giant solar flare yesterday but sometimes it's slow just because it's slow. We don't like it but it happens.

I kept contemplating saying something for the past week but figured it was just me. Took me a couple minutes just to get to this thread. :p

No. A new thread every time the forum slows down helps track things. An admin can take that to the host as evidence of poor performance.

Believe me, there are lots of talk behind the scenes about every part of this forum.

I don't mind a new thread if it's a persistent problem, as it is this time. I don't want to see a thread every time someone has a random 5-minutes of sluggishness, but if it goes on for a couple hours, obviously there's a problem.

I put in a support request on the server last night, they reset something and in a matter of minutes, it was FAST. But, now it's slower than ever and I've filed another support request and they say they're working on it.

All will be resolved soon enough.

Repair work on the server is complete, should be good to go.
