Ever since i got my miata i have wanted some teeth. but after hours and hours of research i couldnt find ANYTHING with pictures to show me how to make home made teeth. So i will be the FIRST to create a thread on the internet to have pictures and show how to make these teeth. I was reluctant to give out this info because i want to be different and i dont want everyone copying me, so please dont copy my exact teeth!!

Or if anyone wants, I can make you a custom one for cheap, pm me for details

Materials and Tools:
-Cardboard
-Pencil
-Tape
-Good pair of tin shears
-Computer/Printer
-Aluminum Gutter cover from home depot...http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-100028324/h_d2/ProductDisplay?selectedCatgry=SEARCH+ALL&jspStoreDir=hdus&catalogId=10053&navFlow=3&keyword=77-106&Ntpc=1&langId=-1&Nu=P_PARENT_ID&storeId=10051&Ntpr=1&ddkey=Search

This is what the gutter cover stuff looks like... it is sold by 12ft segmets for like $10 at Home Depot.

First get your cardboard and go out to your car and make a rough draft of what you want your teeth to look like...
http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/5571/dsc08544j.jpg

Then get on your computer and use shapes (i used triangles) on word to match the size you want your teeth then print them out
http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/6747/dsc08547j.jpg
http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/5468/dsc08538a.jpg

Tape the printed shapes on the aluminum and trace the pattern onto the aluminum
http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/8199/dsc08539l.jpg

Now take your shears and go at it; if the shears are dull it will just bend the aluminum.

This ugly lip is left after cutting...
http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/881/dsc08541x.jpg

Whack it with a hammer... and its nice
http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/2320/dsc08542zc.jpg

Now repeat these steps for the bottom and paint them if you feel necessary

You now have a sick and cheap mod that only takes about an hour to do!!!

Mine is a bit simpler... Take one grill

http://ecommerce.mossmotors.com/p/miata-mx-5/miata-exterior/grilles/protective-grilles---black/900-755-m

Add paint.

End up with this.

Then all the kids point out your car (and you) to their single moms. It's a win-win.

Ctrench, you double posted your project here and in the Exterior section. I have to merge these two together to the Exterior section and then move them to DIY. Just want to give you a heads up.

:Edit, merge and move done.

looks pretty cool in person, especially with the red lights at night. I could only image peoples reaction which you creep up on them at night with those teeth glowing hhahha

Thanks for the DIY write up, I was wondering what materials you used.

Nice looking teeth even if they are not welcoming :) and that gutter cover is named aluminum fascia/board.

I think the red lighting really completes the look.

I wouldn't have teeth on my car personally, but that doesn't keep me from enjoying them on those rare occasions when I get to see them. :)

I think it's pretty damn cool. Miatas are supposed to be a fun car!
It has to be an NA though. You need the pop up headlights to complete the look.

I like the teeth, instead of aluminum fascia, I used vinyl gutter, cheap, easy to cut and clean. After you have them cut out it only takes a few minutes to install and take off (attaches to existing holes on top and bottom of bumper cover), so its a fast way for some fun!! You can also add some red paint and a fake arm for effects!

mine aren't diy, but from www.autoxpressions.com

just posted to prove NBs can look good with teeth. just need the GV lids now :D

Atank, that's what I was planning for Halloween, but didn't get around to doing it. I have a few costume ideas for my car for next year!
