Since weather sucks and I do not have a closed garage, I decided to do some work by building a suspension "calculator" for the Miata. Final goal is to have a complete simulation of a Miata suspension and be able to evaluate changes, ballpack required spring rates and damping etc. Of course, when I have some actual progress I will upload it so that anyone can use it/fiddle with it. For now, I have just gathered some values for certain parts and their weights, however I still lack the following:

Rear "Sport" rotors
Rear "Sport" calipers
Front spindle

So if you have a reliable source, or even better some spare parts and a scale and feel like helping out, let me know! :D

Sounds like a great idea, HB! A crash test dummy for our cars before sending out the money for parts that might not fit our goals. If you get this up and running and we meet one-day I owe you a Gyro!

I have no enclosed place to play, either. I feel your pain. :|

The sport rear calipers and brackets are probably only a few ounces more than the 1.8 setup since the bracket is just slightly bigger.

Yes, I had in mind something relatively close to begin with. Not that I do not trust FCM, but I would love to confirm their calcs on my own as well! Plus, it is fun! ;)

A sport rear rotor weighs about 8.5 pounds, providing my scale is somewhat accurate. A sport rear caliper bracket is just under 2 pounds and a rear caliper is just under 4 pounds.
