I have this old Formuling wheel from my old VW i'd like to use. I know it wont bolt up with any available hub adapter, but does anyone have an idea about how to make and adapter for a hub adapter. Haha, I feel like an Xzibit meme.

Looks like the MG hubs that some japanese vendors used to make would fit it but would have to know the bolt spacing.

I'll look into that, I love this wheel and i'm determined to make it work. Thanks for the reply Phat!

Looks like some of the bolts of Momo pattern and some of a Nardi pattern would align. Maybe get a hub that has both patterns?

Do you happen to know where I could find one? Thanks for the reply Rust!

NRG has bolt pattern for momo and nardi. I have had both on my nrg quick release/short hub.

I think I found what I need, although it doesn't specify the bolt pattern.

Wow I'm not good at counting, i'm sure i'll find the proper adapter.

Just cause it doesn't have the same number of holes doesn't mean it won't work since the NRG has multiple bolt patterns. I'd contact NRG to verify fitment.

Yeah, thats what i'm going to end up doing, my wheel has a 9 bolt pattern and is quite a bit larger than the more common 6 bolt pattern.

I think the bigger problem will be the horn plug. That what I was having a problem with when I was trying my GT Grant wheel. I know I would have to get a Daikei hub or Works Bell but they don't have a 5 hole pattern. Let me know what you come up with. I am very interested.

Well for the NRG hub (probably others as well) the simple solution for the horn was to run a wire from the factory connection with a eye connector on it and put it on one of the screws used to mount the clock spring and put a paper clip between the screw and horn wire connector and bend the paper clip to where it just touches the back of the brass contact plate on the NRG hub...that easy! :drinkto:

NRG has a video i believe on their site, wish i had taken a few pics because apparently this is a common hurdle when using a aftermarket steering wheel.

How long of a wire is needed?

Ugh.....not too long(6-8"), iirc, since you are just going from the clock spring connection to said screw. I didn't cut my clock spring out but simply tucked it under the steering column.

I have to look at it again. For some reason, mine would unplug when I would turn.

Well, I'm not having any luck finding a 9-bolt adapter so what i'm thinking about doing is filling the existing holes, welding a plate in the center, ordering a horn button and 6-bolt hub adapter. From there I will make my measurements and drill the appropriate holes to make everything work. I'm open to any suggestions though as i'm pretty intent on using this wheel. The only reason i'm considering going this path is because I may at some point down the road decide I want another wheel, and i'd like to be able to use the same adapter.

Could be moto-lita spacing?
There's a boss available form them if so.

Thank you for this, now I just need to solve the horn button issue, may still be in the same boat...
