I have a set of Wilwood Powerlite calipers that I'm putting on the rears of my1.6 turbo build car. I purchased the requisite hardware from Flyin' Miata so that I can use the calipers with 2001+ Sport rotors. Should I use dust shields on the rears? I am feeling a bit too lazy to pull the hubs again and replace the new dust shields with the larger sport package shields. Is there any real detriment to not having the shields in place?

What GarageStar did was just trim the dust sheild to accomodate the BBK in his 2000 NB.

Lol on this project next.

Please post what FM recommends. Thanks

I consulted a local autoXer and track guy and he had the same issue. He simply took a Dremel to the shield to cut away the lip that curls over the rotor.

Awesome so Ken is right it is a simple trimming of the brake shield.

Let's see some pics when you get it installed John.
