This one looks rather promising! Kinda reminds me of the Honda Beat Roadster. This one is said to get 150hp from a smaller 1.5L engine and a MUCH lighter body.

Who comes up with these grilles? It must be some Anime cartoonist or something.

I don't love it, but it looks better than some of the others possible NDs I have seen.

I rather like the back end.

I think it could look good. And it is the first one I have seen that's believable.

Why do modern cars have a "lifted" rear end? It looks stupid. And seriously, can Mazda make just ONE good looking front grill? Ever since 2008 or 2009, Mazdas have been looking like clowns. Make it happy, but not stupid.

It's RICE. Race inspired cosmetic enhancement. In this case, the inspiration is a diffuser.

I laugh when I see modern SUVs with fake diffusers.

The ass looks more like a pontiac sunfire. I'm not a fan of the bumpers but with the MX-5 aftermarket, I'm sure GV will pimp this out somehow.

That rear fender as seen on the red car, NICE! To me that fender kinda carries the MX-5's thematic ancestry from the British roadsters. Midsection looks pretty good too.

The front fender though, makes the car look like a cousin to the Beetle. Do not like that.

I agree with traveler the front fender is a bit too much but overall the look is ok lets just hope its not the final design!

Here is an mx-5 I found on a magazine yesterday. Supposed to be the new 2014 mx5. Looks like shit to me. Plus if you look in the corner it gets a measly 22mpg WTF!!!!!

Only thing cool is that it comes supercharged and 200lbs lighter.

I would doubt those MPG figures are referring to the ND. Likely to previous.

And until Mazda themselves unveils the ND, everything you're seeing in magazines are "artist's renderings." Also known as "guesses."

Hmm, interesting. I worry if it's lighter then it won't be sold in the US in the same spec, considering all the safety equipment required to sell a car here such as TPMS, ESC, TCS, etc.

I always thought those were to improve gas milage, guess I've been thinking wrong the whole time.

First off, that's the city mpg number. Never take city mpg into account, as it's always going to be horrible anyway. Secondly, those are the figures for the NC. Plus, do you really think that with the dawn of Skyactiv technology, Mazda would let anything that's brand new get less than 30mpg? (With that said, it'll be interesting to see what sort of fuel economy the ND will get for everyday usage.)

It doesn't even have any of the Kodo design language built in. As I've said before... not from Mazda, no care. However, this is the best and most relevant rendering I've seen so far (the only one with Kodo incorporated) and it's just an NC with the Shinari nose and body lines photoshopped on.
