Last week Yahoo Auctions had a relatively hard to find shift knob that I wanted, at a very reasonable price. Looked great in the pix, and there's little that can go wrong with a shift knob. But I can't read Japanese, and the auction ended while I was still trying to figure out which buying services are legitimate. In case another opportunity arises, any recommendations on translation and/or buying services? Thanks in advance.

I've tried both Buyee and Jauce, and all the stuff I've bought from both got here fine. Buyee has a nicer format, but I think I remember the Jauce fees being slightly cheaper. Maybe. Haven't used Jauce for several years, used Buyee last about a year ago. I'm conversational in Japanese and generally okay, but when I'm feeling lazy on YJA, I just right-click and ask Chrome to google translate the page. It's better than it used to be, and usually gets close enough as far as auction site descriptions go.

Also, Rod from Tetsuya Garage can bid on auctions on your behalf! He's got me a couple things, always been happy.

Thanks for the input both, really appreciate it. Funny, I did attempt to use Buyee (they had a banner ad on the auction page), but they wouldn't attempt the transaction for me, said the seller didn't have enough positive reviews ... even though the seller had 95 positive ratings and 0 negative. Odd. I'll try Jauce and/or Rod next time.

The 3rd party auction brokers are good too but you'll need to order a LOT of items at once to make it a decent price because the fees and shipping on single time purchases will make the item 3 times more expensive in the long run than what the auction starts at.

Wow, good to know - I assumed there would be a significant surcharge, but would not have guessed that it'd be quite that extreme. I'll definitely contact Rod if the right opportunity (item) arises. Thank for the guidance!!
