KEEPIN IT CLASSY

http://i1036.photobucket.com/albums/a450/WillayFoShizzay/My%20Little%20Roadster/DSC00992.jpg

I bought my first Miata just 2 days before Christmas. Completely stock, clean, unmolested, and grandpa owned. Just beautiful. The first thing I did was add a GV style lip to it. This is the earliest picture I have.

About 2 weeks after I got the car, I was backed into by an old asian man. (stereotypical, right? -_-) Decided not to go through insurance and got about $650. The damage wasn't so bad, nobody notices it besides me. So I used the money to fund my full exhaust system.

For Valentine's Day my girlfriend bought me some Bosch H4 Euro headlamps so I installed those next.

No real difference in appearance lol.

But the light output is just incredible!

3.10.12 Garage Woolery Tech Day

Had a big project lined up for this day. Jackson racing headers, FM cat, RB power pulse, and H&R springs. Started at around 11 AM and ended at around 3 AM on 3/11. Things never go as planned do they?

Here's what I started with
http://i1036.photobucket.com/albums/a450/WillayFoShizzay/My%20Little%20Roadster/DSC00982.jpg
http://i1036.photobucket.com/albums/a450/WillayFoShizzay/My%20Little%20Roadster/DSC00981.jpg

Removal of the stock header was a bitch because my entire exhaust system was welded pretty much as 1 piece. I wish I knew why.

http://i1036.photobucket.com/albums/a450/WillayFoShizzay/My%20Little%20Roadster/DSC00985.jpg

Thanks to a lot of help from Steve, Darrell, Gus, Gus' friend (sorry I don't remember your name :phillyb: ), and Patrick(I think?). The exhaust system was finally in.

Now on to the terribly irritating part. The suspension. JonB and I spent a shitload of time trying to get all 4 struts out. Neither of us had ever done it before, but at least we know how now! :P It turns out one of my front struts was mismatched to the rest of the car and this same strut also became cross-threaded. Fuck me. Then RyokuRob comes to the fucking rescue. You're the man Rob. Rob hooked me up with 2 OEM front struts which I put my H&R springs on. Rides great!

Here's how it looked just installed. SUV springs, right JonB?

But after the springs settled..

Looks a bit lower, right? I like the way the car looks right now.

Couple days after this I took some pictures at my cousin's high school in the Brea canyons. The shots are bad. Terrible lighting. I guess this thread will document the build of my photography skills as well. Haha.

3.14.12
On this day I was hit once again by another old asian man. Tired of this shit. :fp: I better be getting another check for more mods. I'll have pics of this tomorrow.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my first post in my first build thread! Remember- Keep it classy. :fab:

Nice.

Will, your car is in amazing condition. Borderline time capsule.

I still giggle about this...at the techday, it's about 5-6pm. Will wants to hang it up for the day, the exhaust project was exhausting and I understand that.

Will: I'll do the suspension another day.
Me: Naw, man, you still have time!
Will: I'm pretty tired.
Me: See all those guys standing around? Go ask them for some help. Hey Jon! You want to help this guy with his suspension?

Two hours later, I was laughing hysterically from under Sean's car listening to Jon fighting with the suspension. It sounded like he was passing golfball-sized kidney stones.

12:30 am, I'm beat and not looking forward to driving home. Will and Jon are *just* buttoning up the car.

Sorry to hear about the accident, I hope the damage is minimal!

^ the damage is minimal and really not worth pictures. I'm getting $600 out of it though. I could probably fix what little was done with a good buffing and some touch up paint.

3.16.12
Fixed the o-ring problem that I had with my coolant pipe. No more leaks!- or so I thought! Found out I'm leaking a bit of oil from the valve cover. Which is fine because I'm in the process of painting a new valve cover to throw on there anyhow! :D

Yeah it was Brea Olinda. And I agree on the burning of the rich kids. :p

Anyways, sorry for no updates really. Replaced my radiator cap because my old one was only working at 6 psi. Got one from Joey at project G. Thanks for hooking me up!

Sent my valve cover out to get powdercoated and installed it! :D Random red silicone hose because the original cracked as I was reinstalling it.
