Yes they have a super low number too IIRC the lazer blue was an internet order only color!! Ill try to find more info for you

There were about 151 made, of which only 59 are cloth, making The Tick a rare bird indeed :)

EDIT: According to M.net's LB expert (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/130536/2002-mazda-miata-mx-5), I had the Base count wrong.

What surprises me is how many folks mistake it for one of the other blues. If you look at this pic from CR@TG '10, you can see what Laser and Laguna look like in the same light:

Here you get to see Laser, Sapphire, and Laguna next to each other. It's easy to see the difference between Sapphire and Laser when they're next to each other, though you'd be amazed how many people ask if I drive a 10AE!

Laser Blue, especially in sunlight, is probably the brightest and most vibrant of all of the NA/NB blues. I've never managed to get a pic next to one, but I wonder how it compares to Winning Blue on the NC:

Of course, the sad truth about Laser Blue, somewhat like, say, Marina Green, Merlot Mica, and Montego Blue, is that it was recycled from more mass-produced items in the Mazda portfolio--specifically the Protege in my case.

I am really glad to see other Laser Blue owners, I have countless hours of research and digging to find other people and more info on this very limited production color. I must say it is really cool that I will probably never pass another person with the same car! I have seen vivid Yellows and and a Lava Orange but only seen maybe 3 or 4 laser blues on the internet, period... and never seen another in person. I live in Oregon so if any of you is close please PM me. :mrgreen:

Lol, thats actually Mt. Saint Helens, but very close. :mrgreen: that shot was taken at Rocky Butte in Se Portland.
