It's that time of year again so get your Mazda all cleaned up and head out to our meet!

As usual it will be held at the Sonic Drive-In in St. Cloud. Once everyone has had enough time to grab some lunch we will head over to a nearby park for hanging out, taking pictures and more! I have a few things to give away to the first few people who show up but if Mazda comes through and sends me more stuff I will have free stuff for everyone! There will also be a few awards handed out, nothing too special.. for the first meet I made up a few awards out of old junk parts and people seemed to enjoy them so I'll be making a few more of those.

I will talk to everyone at the meet on Saturday but I really wasn't expecting so many people to show interest.. so even if 2/3 of the cars on the list actually show up then I will put more effort into setting up the meet next year. I can pick a better spot where I can have some sectioned off parking lot just for us. There will be enough spaces on Saturday, I just can't stop anyone else from parking with us or already being parked there before we get there. Also, I would like to have a raffle with some cool prizes, some better things to give away and if there is going to be enough interest in doing it again next year I'll have some actual awards made (I'm running out of junk parts anyways). I guess I just want to apologize in advance if everything doesn't go off as planned on Saturday, I'm sure everything will be fine but if I knew a month ago that 60 cars would be showing up I would have worked out a little better plan. I really appreciate all the interest you all have shown in joining our meet and we hope to see you out there Saturday morning! It's going to be an awesome meet with a great variety of Mazda vehicles from new to old, I hope to see everyone out there and as always drive safely!

Attention failers: I spoke with the Sonic store manager today, he is more than happy to have us meeting there. The only issue is that they only have 36 parking spaces on their property and I don't want to cram everyone into their little space and leave no room for their normal Saturday lunch crowd so we will (as planned) be using the Wal-Mart parking lot.. only thing with that he said was I need to let the store manager at Wal-Mart know but they shouldn't have any problem with it. I tried calling today but she isn't in until tomorrow so I'll have an update on that tomorrow.

The Sonic store manager was also trying to talk me into coming monthly and giving us 15% off food at our monthly meets if we did so. I know the actual club is too spread out to do a monthly meet but I may just make a monthly meet for the local guys if they're interested. The other thing he mentioned was they do have power out by the Wal-Mart parking lot that we could use and do an even bigger meet next time! I really want to do some raffles, maybe have a few local sponsors and really have a nice big "palooza" type meet. Eric, I might have to speak with you about that kind of stuff sometime since I know you put together all the palooza meets we all miss going to. As long as everything goes as planned and there are no issues this Saturday I feel it will be much easier to get everything set up for next time so lets make this one a great one! :)

I won't include Winter since its too cold and i figure some of us will be planning the ski trip too. You could count this as a Team Fail All Mazda Summer Meet.

The green(97) had tan interior and I liked it better so I swapped it into the red one since green is having problems and the red(90) is my DD. I just bought the white one(96) and it has black interior. I like the tan so I want to swap it. The white will be my new DD and I'll sell the red one. The red one is slammed and the white one is riding high. So two kill two birds with one stone(stock suspension will have more buyers interested in the car and I'll slam the white one) I'm going to be swapping the suspension.

Ya, it all depends on who and where your from. I been racing since I was a kid, and I played in my Simpson fire suite. Try playing football in one of those. I know I did. We use to finish racing and get out and go play football right after racing for 30 laps or so. Last coupe of winter, I was able to freeze the water from the sprinkler system. Its was fun when you wake and the front yard is covered in ice. :mrgreen:

Just a heads up on the schedule.. since someone ask me..

We plan on staying at Sonic until at least 12:30.. I want to give everyone time to get there, see everything and hang out for a bit and get lunch. I also need time to walk around with the club members to figure out who we want to give the awards to and gather everyone up to hand them out. After all that you are welcome to ride over to the park (the address is in the first post) with us for photos, hanging out and whatever else you wanna do there.. bring a football, soccer ball or something to toss around if you want. I think the Central Florida Rotary Club is going to head out after a few pictures at the park because they have to be at a meet in Longwood by 3pm. You could follow them up there, hang out with us a bit longer or go home. We'll probably hang out at the park until 3pm.

Experimenting with the tints of orange/red,blue/violet,and green yellow after i sharpen clarify reduce noise, add detail, bump a tad of vibrance, saturation adjust the levels of lighting and exposure and that's it i think with lightroom. Im not sure if Im just being silly with the pictures or being creative and unique. I would love criticism back. I am doing some photos as shot to throw in a variance from what I've done so far. But please i love to be corrected and maybe taught.

The friction between one of our members/event organizer and Jerry was that when the group left early to go to the park for pictures, we were about to do awards. Not everybody knew that that's where you guys were going and some people started packing up to leave (namely people that were getting awards). We had to run around in a frenzy to stop people leaving and rushed the awards. The reaction was a bit much, yes, but I doubt the "You're not welcome anymore." comment was truly valid. I figured I would shed some light on the issue. It had nothing to do with the picture editing at all.

By no means do we want to exclude anyone from our events. Everyone is welcome, Mazda or not. There was just a regrettable misunderstanding.

I'm not blaming you or trying to single you out. I guess we just thought it was your idea since you told us you were going. Nobody's telling you or anyone else what to do or when to leave. You're obviously free to do as you please. I'm just explaining the reasoning behind the hostility as it was told to me. I can understand your feelings, though. First of all the 5 of us leaving was my idea. I wanted to get pictures of just us five before the rush. The whiner in question only singled Gerry out because his RX was not among the pic's Gerry posted.............plain and simple. There is no attacking the rest of the group,nobody thinks the guys and gals at The Mazda Forum are anything but good people. If anybody created an asshole image it was ONE member of your group and I think I can speak for our group at large by saying we had a great time and will show up at your next meet. Gerry also was able to get pics of the cars as they rolled in BECAUSE we left early and because the dude on duty chatted with us re: where cars could park and not park. Gerry, I wanted to thank you for taking the pictures of everyone, that was REALLY very cool and unselfish of you, most folks would just take photos of their crew and say screw everyone else.

ThatWhiteNA, I don't think they really had all the others leaving, I was with a larger group from Tampa and Orlando Miatas and we all hung out, nobody told us they were leaving for photos, but we kinda guessed that and just shurgged and said, oh well, more prizes for us! :slayer:

I don't think anyone got bent out of shape and it was a good turnout. Not sure whom the "One" person is everyone is referring to? But what you have to be prepared for with ANY event is the unexpected, always plan for the worst outcome, and unexpected, rain, cars dying on the way over, folks getting lost, speeding tickets, etc etc. The 5 guys that left early for photos had zero impact on everyone else IMHO, the guy that got upset just needs to relax, this was a good event with no major hickups, bravo to you guys, I have planned several large events in the past and know its draining, yall did good!

I was part of a small group that just went home around 12:30. I had a fun time but it was so hot a few of us had enough and left .

My issue is with the person and comment and attack on Bandit. Especially considering the attacker was the organizer of the event. Bad form on about 100 levels.

Having helped organize the last Lakeland meet that had over160 cars I understand what goes into these things and you will never make everyone happy but he attacked a participant. Shame on him
