Thanks, we are hoping everyone likes this as well. We wanted MazdaRoadster.net to look more unique, and Mazda Blue is just a WIN in my book, props to Kung Fu Jesus for the color selections, and Loren for the background work, and the rest of the mods for helping to trouble shoot most of the bugs out.

The only thing i'm not really digging is what it looks like when you get to "Search results." The list of threads looks really.... frantic and jumbled.

Unfortunately, i'm not even sure how to fix it. Maybe a smaller font? The "boxes" or lines that separate each thread result... could they be lighter maybe? I think that's what's making it look really busy to me.

Can we not have such a tacky patterned background? What is this, 1998? Honestly, it makes the site look cheap. I'm not against patterned backgrounds, just ones that are ugly.

If you're insistent on keeping the "carbon fiber," can we at least make the other body part not semi-transparent? That definitely adds to the chaos, especially with the white text on top of it.

As for the CF background, I rather like it. Cheesy? Perhaps, but in a good way. Sorta like the pink MiataTurbo logo, which I also love.

We appreciate contstructive feedback from the membership because we want MR to be your first choice in hangouts. A big part of the redesign was to carve out our own unique identity and the blue theme is really a good start. We can tweak elemements here and there (well maz admin and KFJ can) as feedback determins but it sure is a huge step to go blue in the first place. Personally, I love it and the green elements are pretty cool as well.

As a web designer, I agree... and I fought the notion of the CF background in the beginning. But, it's what "the boss" wanted, so I experimented with it. It is a little busy, but it grows on you after a while.

Recognize that no matter what we do, it will absolutely NOT please everyone. Based on the abundance of "love it" responses vs. the few "hate it" responses, I think we did okay. The goal was to differentiate ourselves from all the other Miata forums, which we did.

minor quibble.
on my debian machine with a gtx580 video card, scrolling this forum with the middle mouse causes some very slow behavior. not sure if its the background or not, other miata forums scroll totally fine with middle mouse.
