I usually set up the discounted room rate at Fontana for CR@TG but since I rarely visit there anymore, maybe a MR@TG?

Attendance was usually only about 15-20 people, but location is beautiful, roads are mostly empty, and company is great!

Room rates usually drop the 1st of November, but I'm talking to Fontana about extending our discount and the off-season rate to the middle of October since they're holding their own Oktoberfest called Hoptoberfest with some local breweries (Nantahala Brewing Center in Bryson City, Heinzelmännchen Brewery in Sylva, NC, etc).

More info on the event here: http://www.fontanavillage.com/events/pdfs/Hoptoberfest071612.pdf

Would anyone be interested? Typically, I've gotten the 2BR Azalea cabins with 2 bathrooms, fireplace, and whirlpool tub for about $100 a night.

Sounds interesting. How many of those cabins are available?

I might be interested. Keep us up to date on this. I am private contractor/freelamce designer, so the further out I can plan, the better.

Definitely interested depending on weekend. :)

I have usually gotten 5 or 6 cabins included in the group for the price. Absolute worst case scenario, if I can't get the cabins during Hoptoberfest weekend (Oct 13), I should be able to easily during the first weekend of November.

I REALLY enjoyed the Bryson City Brewery.

Driving the area as the leaves come into color and fall is very beautiful and sobering at the same time. You start to see the dropoffs the foliage hides in the summer.

How would I pull this off with only having 2 seats and being married with a daughter?

Tell her to drive seperately? Maybe hitch a ride for one of them with someone else? You could always drive a MSV.

My contact at Fontana was off today, maybe get an answer tomorrow.

OK, I just got off the phone with Fontana and here's what's available.

The Village is almost entirely booked for the weekend of Hoptoberfest. Looks like we waited too long for that one.

But, they are willing to extend December-January pricing to the weekend of November 9 & 10 for two sets of 5 cabins.

Azalea 2BR and 2BA. Has 1 king and 1 queen bed, whirlpool tub, fireplace, full kitchen, cable tv and telephone.
With a 2 night minimum stay (Fri & Sat) it's $139 a night

Hemlock 2 BR and 1 BA. Has 1 queen bed and 2 twin beds, full kitchen, cable TV, no phone.
With a 2 night minimum stay (Fri & Sat) it's $109 a night

I need to let them know ASAP which we'd prefer so I can get the block set up and the discount applied.
Which would everyone prefer?

I like cheaper, but the difference of $60-$90 for the whole trip really isn't a big deal, especially if we're sharing.

I can tell you with no uncertainty that the Azalea cabins are much much nicer! Plus, there's a full bathroom for each bedroom in the Azalea. I'm digging around for pics of the Hemlock cabins, but here's some of the Azalea.

Nobody interested? I need to call early this coming week to get things blocked off so nobody else can get the cabins.

I posted this in Southeast. I attended CR@TG two years ago. White NA with blue stripes. It's still white but now with Eunos side stripes intead. I was at MATG this year selling parts. You may have talked to me.

We had a mixed group last year. All ages and interests. I think we were there the same weekend that the old CR crowd that is now over here was. It would be great to combine the weekend together. I can get cabins added to my contract if anyone is interested.

Threadjack? Nothing like advertising your event in someone else's event thread.

Doesn't really matter... it was dead anyways.
