So I started off with a bone stock 92 mariner. I wanted to make the car look nice but also be able to drive the car cross country if I had to. It is slowly taking form and I figured i'd document it here.

This is the earliest picture i have of it when it still had the daisy's on it and a Home Depot lip.

After that i ended up getting some wheels for it. I decided on 15x7 Kosei K1's with 205/50 dunlop direzzas.

I sold the hardtop because I dont have a/c and only drive it in the summer. I put that money into the suspension. I got some KYB AGX's, Tein S Tech springs, and FCM tophats. Here's how it sat after that.

Then, i decided to clean a few things up like sanding the letters off the marker lights and re-dyeing the seats.

What did you use to re-dye your seats?

Also i added a lotus elise start button and a MOMO wheel with quick release

Since then i added an R-lip and put the turn signals back in.

And here's a few more pictures for good measure.

What did you use to re-dye your seats?

Believe it or not it was actually the rustoleum fabric paint. I think they turned out pretty good and they have held up pretty well.

I have used fabric dye before it works awesomely!!

And cool build thread I met you at the last stage of your car so as cool to see it from before you did all the stuff!

Yeah it's a very slow build...It took me from 2008 just to get it to where it is now.

Dang, I didn't realize you dyed your seats. They turned out great! And the sanding on the signals is a nice touch.

Nice Smurf.
I have the same year and color and even have the same wheels. Painting them a bit darker at the moment.

You sold that hardtop that I always wanted, damn.

Thanks! Yeah it would have been nice to keep the hardtop but it really just never got used.

Thats the way I feel about a hardtop. I want one. But Now that I have the 240 for winter. I dont really need a hardtop for anything. Car is still looking good rich. I need to get a build thread up on here.

Such a cool looking mariner! Even though i have a black NA, i gota say, Marinier blue is my favourite colour for a NA!

How do you find the TEin Stech/ AGX? FCM combo? im guessing the Tein spring rates are 235F/168R ?

To be honest with you i don't remember what the spring rates were. As far as the ride, I love them. It rides a little stiffer than stock but not overly harsh. The only thing is I wish it sat level, it's a little higher in the back but no big deal.

I see! basically i was asking as i looked on US sites, and it seems the UK unfortunately gets different spring rates...crazily we get a softer spring with more of a drop! Which seems silly!lol! The drop on yours with the KYB seems perfect.

What settings on the AGXs do you usually go for?

Usually like 6 in the front and 4 in the rear.

Here are some new pics of my interior. Seats from Morr, vent rings, HDHCSD, new speaker grilles, new head unit, and added a 12v outlet inside my center console because my lotus start button is where the stock one was.

Really enjoying this build, it's one of the ones that convinced me to keep my Mariner and just take my time building it slowly and enjoying it, rather than rushing all at once to do a bunch of mods.

Looking forward to updates.

Where is your Mariner build thread?

psulja
03-02-2012, 03:41 PM
I could make one but that would take effort on my part. And would mean I would actually need to have money to spend on it lol.. We'll see what happens come spring time, in the mean time I'll just enjoy other people's threads.

Nice, it looks sick! I am liking the look of single diagonal over double diagonals more and more.
