Got a pretty good deal on it all things considered, but I'm unsure about how to go about fixing what damage there is. The problem areas are the edges where a few sections have cracked off. We can do fiberglass, but this SMC stuff has me cautious as I've read it doesn't adhere to regular glass and resins. All the repairs I've seen when googling are surface cracks that use the typical mat and resin repair, but my areas are actual sections that need to be filled in. The only similare one I've seen Ill link here http://truestreetcars.com/forums/street-custom-body-shop/27344-you-know-what-time-paint-time-miata-hard-top.html Can anyone identify what he used? My question is how should I go about repairing this, and what materials should I use to ensure a lasting repair? Pictures below (scotchbrite for contrast)

I think I'd try moldable plastic putty such as Water Weld
