Any reason you guys are running the 595RS-R's this time around instead of NT-01's? You guys running 205's? On 9's?

I have the tires on my miata, and like them a lot. But I remember when I got them a lot of people shit talked on them.

WINNING. Crusher wins E1 against 3-time defending champs, CJ Wilson Racing! Post race impound photo, no dents!

5823

Many lead changes, but CJ increased the gap to 2 laps after alternator/water belt tensioner problem. I got in the car at around 3am with fresh tires and brakes but had to conserve to save having to do an extra pit stop. This would allow us to be in striking range for Emilio to chase CJ Wilson Racing for the final stages of the race. Also, a dying transmission (dying 3rd gear sychro) had to be nursed, so only 4th and 5th gears were used most of the rest of the race. Despite this problem, I chased them down by cutting about 3 seconds per lap for the next 3 hours, and I retook the lead of less than half a lap when I driver swapped with Emilio for the last time in the race.

Then a shifter problem plus a fuel spill penalty set us back again and Emilio had to throw it down. The race was won by 1 lap with Emilio Cervantes driving the last 6 hours of the race, true ironman! The race was close from hour 19 on to the finish, with both cars on the same lap until Emilio lapped them on the final corner of the final lap of the race. Exclamation point!

Thanks to Team 949 Racing for the honor and previlege to drive with a distinguished, winning team for the past 2 years.

Thanks again to everyone that came out in support of Team 949 Racing. We could not have won without the support of everyone who showed up.

Steve, it was nice to see you again. Sorry I did not get a chance to say goodbye before you headed back into the uncivilized parts of the country.

Sonny did an awesome job of driving. His driving is a good part of the reason that there is not much work to do on Crusher in the off season. Now Super, on the other hand, needs a complete make-over.

John

Truly honored to be apart of this experience again!

I *had* to leave before the trailers were loaded. I had reached my limits physically and emotionally to finish, hence no goodbyes.

My hero of the event is Ham...this guy is like an ant; he carries things 5X his size and NEVER quits. I sequestered him from the Mechs and he was right there with me all night slinging tires, wheels, and parts. Soooo awesome!
