Hello again. So I was on my home from class today and almost made it, just had to make one more turn then a brilliant man decided he wanted to be where i was so he turned and hit the front of my car with his PT Cruiser. He already claimed fault so insurance shouldnt be too much of a problem unless they total it.

Its mostly cosmetic damage and the tire needs to be replaced but there also looks to be slight suspension damage as well. So more to the point im looking for recommendations and advice on body shops and what not...

BTW. Im located in San Jose.
Thanks for the help!

He claimed fault, until the insurace company gets involved. Try to go through his insurance for everything if you can. Try and get at least 2 estimates from reputable shops. If his company recommends a shop they might also have a lifetime warranty with the repairs. Good luck!

get 3 estimates from the most expensive shops in town.

Yes, really look at the expensive shops.
Some guy drove into the back of my truck when I had it. Complete minor bumper damage and bumper frame was slightly bent, nothing bad though. They wrote me a $1000 check and I fixed the bumper in 15 minutes.

I once got $1000 for a crumpled van door from an authorized estimate shop. It's your property and they have to pay for the damage.

And here I thought that I had bad luck.

I word of advise since I already gone through it. Certain insurance companies will only fix a car up to a certain point. If that point excedes the set % of the total car value, it will be declared a total loss. This also depends on the insurance company that is going to fix the car. I gone through it twice now and I hate dealing with insurance companies.

Hopefully you will get it all back together and back on the road. Keep us updated.
