Holy price increase batman! I just saw a low mileage Sunburst Yellow Miata for sale on craigslist for $5600, maybe I should have bought it and flipped it on eBay? And this has 77,000 miles on the clock.

Starting bid: US $19,735.00

The one in the Ebay ad is a 1991 "special paint" car,(IE: 1 of 1) this was preproduction paint (Orange, Purple, Mint Green, and a few others).

The 1992 (like the two I owned in the past) are 1 of 1515.

1 of 1 = $$$
That's a well-documented car currently owned by a collector. You can find the purchase thread on Miata.net if interested.

This particular model is one of one '91 Sunburst and was previously owned by Prof. Tom of M.Net fame. The car was just sold to a TN collector for about $20K, which coincidentally is what the Prof paid for about three years ago.

The Prof, replaced all wearable components and "detailed" the car to the point that the buyers appraiser described the car as a "100 points" car.

So mileage makes no difference then?

If this one sells for 20K then I will flip mine for $25K

The collector that bought it obviously didn't think so. + think again, 100 point car. How many 100 point Miatas rare Miatas are out there?

Who cares, buy it,drive it and enjoy it, but if it's that rare and you spent that kind of money , how much can you really enjoy a car by looking at it. To each his own.

Boys and girls, this car (1 of 1 prototype) sold off line weeks ago. New owner will have it at the large east coast Miata event this spring/summer and does plan to drive it as much as the last owner.

Or since it is a competely different car, you could have started another thread... I didnt want to only because just as Martin said it was posted back in August... it already had its own thread. i just simply was breathing life in it as it was an original Mazda colorcar program .. thats all
