Year does not matter, condition does. I need a good 1.8 motor, anyone got one for sale?

I don't have a long block but I do have a short block available. Just picked it up. Unknown mileage is the down side. Make me an offer for it.

What year is the short block from? So I can value it?

That one is a 97 block, 10th vin is V on the oil pan. I also have a head and block out of a 94, but when I pulled the drain bolt, only thing that came out was water. Cam and a few valves have rust but the head itself looks good. I don't know how bad it is inside the 94 block though. Still haven't got the automatic tranny off yet. The 94 block would be a core option to have rebuilt. That was the plan in the beginning. But money is tight for me right now and I rather get rid of it.

Make me a good offer and take the 94 block too. You can have the automatic transmission for free. I have a 94 intake manifold if your interested. it was modified so it doesn't use the support bracket.

you want to use the early 1.8 block if you are looking to build it. Only the early blocks and the Mazdaspeed block has a coolant port on the exhaust side of the block. This is key in order to bypass the heater lines to the mixing manifold. Remember, all 1.6, 94.-95.5 and Mazdaspeed block have it. The rest are junk!

I knew all of that thanks. That area is there on all blocks, just in '94-'95.5 (OB1) cars they are drilled and tapped. On the newer blocks there is flat area that can be drilled and tapped.

That is fine. No hard feelings. It just stuff I really don't need, until the MSM is paid off.

There is a part out going on at tampabaymiatas. A 10AE is being parted out that also has an extra head.
