The area which I marked in the picture are the first place where the door meets the rest of the car.
You can see its to tight since the pressure between the door and the windshield creates a "lip".

If you look close you can see that the side window is below the "lip". My understanding is that the windows should be slightly higher than the "lip"

Any tip on how to proceed?

Hard to tell just looking at that one point but the door can be adjusted slightly inward or outward via the door hinges.

The problem is not inwards or outwards. Its that the point marked on the picture is to high compared to the sidewindow.

It's hard to tell without seeing a picture of how the door generally fits the car. Is the gap below the door too much? Because besides inward and outward adjustment, you can also adjust upward, downward and rotation. It's all a matter of adjusting the hinges properly.

Guess I should supply a picture of the door to clarify. :)

That track you have pictured is bolted to the bottom of the door. It is possible you can loosen the nut and pull the track inward which should pivot the top outward just a tad.

To get body panels to line up properly, it usually means moving things around at different points. Loosen up the door hinges and all track nuts (top and bottom), and move things around little by little until things start to line up. It is a process that takes time, but I would think you can adjust it out.

Below I have two pictures of my doors.

The top picture from the passanger side seems correct. The window fits perfect into the rubber-frame (or what its called).
If you see at the picture at the bottom you see that the rubber-frame is to high to fits perfect with the window.

Still I believe my problem are in height not inwards or outwards. Both sidewindows are all up and fits fine with the soft-top.

What does the crowd say?

Both pics look identical too me, but if you take the rubber trim off the door (where you circled), you will see that there is a metal tab at the top (again, where you circled) that holds the track to the door. It is possible you need to bend that tab down slightly to lower the track a tad. However, I would not do that until you have loosened the door and tried to adjust it. It is very unlikely that the track suddenly raised and is causing the problem, but it is possible that adjusting the tab will correct the problem.

I would still say it is more likely the door is out of adjustment, in my opinion.

Think I found what causing the oddity on the driverside.

Drivers side

Female side

As you see the frame on the drivers side has a gap on a couple of mm.

Seems for me the "frame" is a part of the door. Better be fixable, I dont want to change the door.

What do you recommend as the fix?
Can the frame be fitted back on its place or should I find a new window?
