Since its been cold here in florida this past week I have notice steam or heat coming from the spicket of the rad cap and also on the passenger side of the unit near the a/c lines are located. I just recently replaced the bypass hose on the drivers side of the thermostat on my nb1 because i discovered a pin hole size leak shooting straight for the belts and all over the front of the motor.

Since then i swapped caps since i had my old mishimoto radiator cap and installed that bypass hose. But there is steam or heat still whirlling around in the cold weather from the passenger side lower part of the radiator. Is this caused by the coolabt being flung around from the belts? I do have dried coolant on the inside of my hood. Or is this because of the cold weather or more?

It gets cold in florida? haha. jk

how cold is cold? if there is water on your radiator after its hot then it will steam. but there shouldn't be much to constantly steam. You might have a leak.

I believe i do as well. I placed another order through mishimoto. I still cant find where the leak is coming but only where its deposits are.

With all the problems you've had with that rad, I think I'd sell it when you get the new one and buy a Koyo.

How much was your koyo?

I'd have to double-check, I bought it off eBay. Less than $300 IIRC. I know it's pricey but I haven't heard of anyone having trouble with them.

Edit: got it from these guys: http://www.ebay.com/itm/KOYO-ALUMINUM-RADIATOR-MAZDA-MIATA-2ND-GEN-99-05-V2277-/150370985519?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item2302cf262f. Just a bit over $300.

Bring it to someone do a pressure test, then you would find out where it's leak.

Question for you, everyone says that the oem cap doesn't fit and you have to buy the koyo one. I emailed goowinracing and they said OEM fits, can you confirm/deny?

Thanks
