Trying to see which day is best again. I will be setting up one of these threads for each of the upcoming meets.

Again, if you vote for other, please specify a day that you are interested in.

Let the voting begin!

I vote for Monday just because Wednesday is the day before T-giving. It will be a little crazy around the mall that day.

Tim is no match for m20 torques, either. ;)

I completely forgot about that as well. I guess my vote goes for Monday.

And I completely screwed up on the date for Wednesday. It is supposed to be 27Nov2013. Sorry. It's still early.

I take it I missed something last night?

He was trying to chase me down heading up Glenwood. I recognized the headlight signature and knew it was him or just some random NB owner. I left a stoplight and shot out ahead. I also paced traffic in the lane he was in so he couldn't get around me. :)

Nice. I really love this cooler weather for driving the Miata. I don't know what it is but I really like it. I have to clean it this weekend and I am going to attempt a small rear bumper cut on it. I may even tackle the fog lights if I am feeling very productive.

kung fu jesus
11-14-2013, 08:43 AM
OY! We should plan the foglight swap soon. I have a steering rack to put into the e30, but the weather is supposed to be nice this weekend if you want to come over.

I can do that. Saturday morning? Sunday, I am taking Gabrielle to the Orchestra so I will be busy.

I hope the weather really is nice this weekend. I have a new heater core I need to install. also might try pulling up my carpet and letting it dry out. its damp from leaking heater core.

As far as the m20 goes, from ~4 car lengths back those tail lights were disappearing so fast I forgot I was in a miata. I might as well have been on foot. #4banger_lament #dasheddreams #realitybites

I will. Thanks man. With the weather looking better this weekend, I will get to try out the Hardtop hoist I am making and also make the adjustments to the bikini top.

Yes. I only have two jackstands. What I think will work best is to pull my NB in the carport and yours can park next to it. Should make pulling the fogs and transferring them over easier with them side by side like that.

James, just a thought... if you're going to pull the carpet, maybe lay some sound deadener/heatshielding on the tunnel and right side of the driver's footbox. One of those things that 'while I'm in there...' sort of makes driving the car more livable, especially with that header.

11-15-2013, 08:21 AM
Alright Steven, so what I am going to be bringing is my jack, all 4 jackstands (just in case), ratchet and sockets, soldering iron and solder, electrical tape, wire strippers, extra hardware to really secure the front lip since it will be off, fog lights with wiring, screwdriver. Anything else that I may need to bring?

kung fu jesus
11-15-2013, 08:29 AM
No, I have most of that stuff. Bring what you think you need to do the job, in case I don't have it.

Do you guys have any experience with different thermal barriers? I know in all the FM builds, they seem to use thermocool? Or something named like that. I really wanted to buy product from sounddeadenershowdown.com but couldn't get a response. However the site is an extremely good resource for product application and cause/effects of the different approaches

kung fu jesus

Avoid the ones with asphalt.

Actually, I plan to add some in the e30. Placement of these materials is key.

I was outside about 930 this morning. It is now 530 pm. and my car is done all except for my battery terminal would not clamp tight and I need to top off coolant. While I had the dash out of the car I rewired my alarm. first time that I installed alarm I had most wires run up under steering column. Well now they are all run with all the other wires behind the dash along with soder and heat shrink tubes. Now it dissent look like a giant nest of wires under my dash.

We may have a guest from LA. Dylan is from the RDU area, met him at KINOD and SOCM out in California. He has a pretty tricked out '90 turbo. He is stationed at Camp Pendelton and is in town for the holiday. He is going to try to make the gathering Monday. He's good people.

Dylan. The E30 has made a home at the meets now. I don't expecting anything else.

Dylan's Miata is back in LA, near WeHo IIRC. He bought it from a tuner who used it as a SEMA display car. He went through that car top to bottom over the next couple of years, even building his own Megasquirt 3 for it. It has been off the road for upgrades/repairs for a while. I also think the registration had expired. He is taking care of that while he is here.

Hey guys. Just wondering if anyone would be interested in maybe starting the meet at Starbucks in Brier Creek and heading together in a caravan to Sonic or something. Do a group cruise somewhere before the Thanksgiving Holiday?

On a different note, we may be getting another newcomer tonight. Former coworker. He drives an FR-S. We will see. Looks like it will be freezing as well. Bundle up buttercups. It's going to be a tit bit nipply.

We may actually be patrons to Starbucks tonight with how cold it's going to be.

Pyr0monk3y

Fire house and Pei Wei are excellent. There's usually plenty of parking in the Harris Teeter lot nearby.

Across the street, O'Charlies is good but a little more expensive.

I'm up for all places but I have to thank Demon for the hibachi introduction; I'm having a hard time with the cravings but I don't regret taking that first hit

Also, sorry I keep missing the voting term; I'll be there tonight

Same here, been sidelined with a couple of things.

My upcoming Miata work includes a new O-ring set for the A/C system (need to convert it), a power steering rebuild kit, and a new CAS O-ring. I have all the parts, just waiting to get the time hopefully before I have to replace the A/C compressor in the wife's 240C lol.

I'd love it if a couple of you that are more knowledgeable about suspensions could drive my car around next time I can get there and give me some opinions.

I need to do the CAS O-ring on mine, It is leaking, I have replaced most of the other seals on my engine already. The Ac on my car works, but leaks out slowly, but I never use it anyway and have really been thinking about taking it off all together.

I converted my '92 when we moved here. I also went through the rings. I used a sealant with the new ones called Nylog. Awesome stuff. Did a write up here:
