One of the greatest Japanese sportscars in Le Mans history was the 1991 24 Hours of Le Mans winner, the triple rotor Mazda 787B. Campaigned during the peak of the Group C era against the might of Porsche, Jaguar and Mercedes-Benz the Mazda wasn't the fastest, but it was super-reliable. Weighing just 830kg and with up to 900bhp on tap, it was also somewhat of a weapon. The car was rebuilt two years ago ahead of a return lap of the French circuit at the hands of 1991 race winner Johnny Herbert.
