I guess I have a weird taste in my opinion the brown pit crew roadster is one of the best pit crew miatas i have seen to date. Amazing look, the pictures don't do any justice because they make you think is a huge chevy car when in fact is not.

Note: The driver of the car must be a midget or something as the roof is possibly very very low for an average guy

The miata roof is too low for me as it is. I can't imagine sitting in this thing!

I don't really care for the thick heavy bumpers, they look out of place.

Seems like with all that custom work, a bit more could have been done to clean it up just that little bit more.

Like the decklid, they shaved the 3rd brake light, but kept the shape of the overhang. It'd look better (to me) if it was a straight line instead of still having the corners cut in for the factory tail lights. And it's a similar thing with the hood. The opening should be narrowed so that the top of the fenders are wider and it extends all the way to the front to the grill opening. Sure, that makes for a really long hood, and likely wonky looking when open, but the lines would be cleaner. As is you have the hood opening cutting into the fenders at a odd place and it breaks up the flow of the design. At the least, just narrowing the hood would help greatly with the flow of the design. And it would look more like a "pancaked" hood on a 50's custom.

Really, I think there some real quality work going on in that car, but it needs that extra bit. One other thing I think I see is that the head lights need to be pushed back a few inches. Looks just a wee bit long in the nose. I think the bumpers work on it with the look they were going for, but it could look even better if they were made to follow the shape of the body. Looking back one more time, I see that the wipers are just standing out way too much. I say just delete them. Or at least remove them if it's not raining.

Still, I like it. It's not exactly how I would have done it, but it's cool.

No, not my cup of tea, but hey, the great thing about these cars is that they make great bases for us to create our own ideas of what rocks.

Phatmiata suggested a LSX. Surely the ultimate sleeper in the twisties.

Good post JamieH.
I agree with your sentiments, particularly with the narrowing of the hood.
I'd need the seats lowered a lot to fit in. I also find the headlight peaks a bit long and sharp, and the rear of the front fender looks too modern. However the 50 Ford tail lights are perfect.
The tail is a modified Pit Crew piece as shown below. There must be a fair bit of filler in the car moulding it all together.

I still love it though. It's so innovative and it's performance would be hardly diminished by the mods.
Back in the 1940's when Americans started building cars like this, chop tops were for more aero on the salt. This car takes me there.
Probably not suited for a life in Australia or the USA as it would look tiny compared to other customs people have seen, and not quite cut it visually because of that.
In Japan though, I can see some Yakusa heading for the hills at high speed in it.

I just took 3 inches out of my Taildragger, but would/couldn't do it to a miata.
I may would chop the windshield and do a full roadster, but w/hardtop would look funny with my head sticking out of a sunroof.

I would like to see this car parked next to a real 57 chevy so you can compare the difference in size. It is like a mini version of the same car. pretty cool to me.

Not selling, so paints wheels red and adds stickers for extra eye candy.
