I got a Robbins top for cheap after a mobile crane wet itself and spilled oil all over the previous owner's soft-top.
It's now cleaned, but there is still some stains from the oil. Do any of you have any tips on how to dye the soft top (i'm thinking black) or clean the last stains?

Here is the aftermath on the previous owners car:

Cleaned and scrubbed with soap

Bumping this. Do any of you have any experience with dying a canvas soft top? Thinking about coloring it black. Or atleast darkerer.

I have some experience coloring fabric, but not this per se. Just some thoughts...you always want to test an inconspicuous area first. Also, there *might* be some color consistency issues where the oil touch it and soaked in. A darker color wuld be best, but you may need to touch up those oily spots or the top in general to get a consistent color (to cover streaks or what not). I would use a high-grade dye and then scotchguard it or some other set-in weatherproofing chemical to protect the cloth.

Probably not what you were looking for, but that's all I have. :)
