from the manufactures site
The Volk Racing TE37V is a new variant of the flagship wheel, the TE37. The V stands for vintage, and this TE37V is aimed for the older classic vehicles. Offering small diameters and lower offsets, the TE37V comes in a step lip design, different from the normal TE37. The TE37V is still just as strong as the TE37, and still just as light. Offered in two standard colors, bronze and gunmetal.

I was actually researching these for a set of track wheels. The problem is the face on the 4x100s.

The spokes are just... not my bag. Not flat or concave like the original TE37. It was enough to kill my interest.

Some german dude has an NA with these. I really love them, I just get sad that no off the shelf 14's come in wider than a 7" width. Booooo

Grip driver recently posted a link to a set of the MTE37 14x7 +18 in the Yahoo thread. Post No. #461 http://mazdaroadster.net/showthread.php?8093-2014-Yahoo-Japan-Auctions-Thread-(-MIATA-Related-Auction-Finds-)&p=130947&viewfull=1#post130947
I looked at the TE37V's when I was choosing my latest wheels. I didn't want too much negative offset so I was looking at the 15x8 +25's. They have the (S-Rim). I don't think they look so attractive with the small outer lip.

Couldn't find MRRS blog with Google. Link?
I'm pretty sure my TE37SL's in 15x8 +25 came from the MTE batch. They were released at about the same time and are apparently a limited run item.

Murakami were selling the 14x7 +18's that GripDriver posted.
I don't think Volk use the MTE designation. The MTE wheels started as a group buy in Japan for Roadster enthusiasts who wanted TE37's in bigger fitments. The pre release promo pics have MTE on them but I haven't seen it used elsewhere to market these wheels.

I thought I might have found out about my TE37SL's in this blog and in a way I have. JonB runs the same 15x8 +25 TE37SL's as I do and apparently he says they were one of five sets for the US market. Probably US dealers can purchase limited runs of five sets also. I purchased my ones from the US so now there's probably only four sets there now. I went for these as they didn't have the newer embossed rim, made in 2012 at the latest. :)

This is the front. When they tested with new pads and rotors it cleared but there was less than 1mm of clearance. So they recommend the 3mm spacer. Evidently as the brakes wear there becomes more clearance.
There was no mention of rear fitment issues on the Japanese site.
