Here's the thing... can they do a new Miata mold? Maybe with flairs, front & rear R-Package spoilers, roll bar, or duckbill spoiler? NA? NB? NC? Cause we need the same cool wheel treatment and "stance" as the new Japanese cars are getting.

I really hope this happens, it would be so awesome. And it could bring on a few new variants of the Miata. I too would like to see a new casting with more aggressive styling like some of the other recent import castings.

I would like to see something similar though, but with a 4-point roll bar, OEM racing stripes, maybe add some meatballs, and FTE wheels for a mainline car similar to this Datsun

All I want is one without a ton of goofy late 90s era tampo mess. Give me a nice clean car with no stripes or luchadores or candy wrappers. Maybe the rocker panel stripes if the just HAVE to mess with it.Oh and mold the interior to include a rollbar.

Johnny Lightning (Praying Mantis) actually went belly up in the economic collapse, they had recently been bought out, not sure who owns the right to them now.

I will have to post up all my other Miata diecast cars, Im cleaning out the closet and reorganizing all my cars, its a ton of work, but give me until this weekend and Ill show you some really cool Miata diecast I own.

The old Miata casting is so poor it's probably not worth reusing. The old casting has an odd face with a grille thats too wide, and sad looking park lights. The trunk taillight area is a bit deformed too. But my least favorite part of the old casting is that it's two separate pieces that dont fit together so well. A one piece body similar to the one wasabi has kindly compiled would be perfect!

Edit:

Being an open car model, the interior collects grime which is hard to clean. Also the windscreen is probably breakable by an industrious child, so a hardtop version would make a more robust toy.
