This aftermarket seat reminds me of the NB "surfboard" seats. Also similar to the base option seats in the Porsche Boxster and Cayman. Not a lot of lateral support but easy to get into and out of. Good for fat people who can't fit in racing buckets or Lotus Elise seats. König made the K5000 seat that was OEM on the original Mk4 Volkswagen Golf R32. But being a German company, they likely aren't cheap seats to buy.

do they make seat brackets for Miata?

They do offer brackets for the Mazda MX-5, I'm just not sure if their brackets fit bottom mount seats like the K80 or if they're for their motorsports seats.
