Also my autokonexion body kit with lip, front flares and rear flares....BUT
sadly im out of time here in the states so it's gonna be a long time for progress, updates, and etc.
I come back in July (HOPEFULLY sooner).
But I got all my maintenance fluids, wires, etc so i won't bore you with boring updates
dumb video that me and my buddy tried to edit. Its random but there's some okay footage
http://youtu.be/EJBUZcK4yd4
Nice. That hardtop looks like sharkas
lol thats what i was thinking when i picked it up off Craigslist. But It will be painted so no more stripes on my stripe less miata
I have been contemplating painting my merlot hardtop white or black. I think it would nice but I dont want to remove a merlot hardtop off of this planet
Just ordered my MSPNP from Good-win racing...they got a sale going on for $595 right now.
which means yes....the parts list will be coming together for booooooost.

pretty excited.
So i'll be living over at MiataTurbo.net for awhile reading, learning, probably trying to figure out easy answers.
-Still stuck on wether to do the FM no electronics kit or a begi kit....but like i said will be continuing to read through reviews
-Still need to find a 1.8 diff and driveline
...but if you guys have suggestions please feel free to share some knowledge, thanks!

Tell me more about the Revolution wheels... How are they to deal with? Time to get across the pond? Weight? Price? Color options?
Man it was so easy to contact them and surprisingly fast shipping. I ordered wheels like Nov 30 after telling them what size i needed, offset, bore, etc etc and then they emailed me updates. Then the wheels were at my house by Dec 5th. Speak with Chris he was helpful and can point you in the right direction.
http://www.revolutionwheels.com/
click on contact to email or call them
Weight: Would be why most wouldn't buy these. They are pretty heavy. about 19 somthing pounds with tires.
Price: was 667 pounds or (about $1050 shipped)
Colors: the only ones i know of are White, Black, and i think a silver not for the 5 spoke rallys though.
PM me if you need any more info
little update from my buddies in the states:
Got my Project G spoiler, MSPNP (no pics yet), and I'm starting to either Rebuild this engine, but i'm hoping Steve over at Plant-Miata has a LNC 92+ 1.6 engine long block lying around.
don't want to turbo on the Short Nose Crank.
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w276/ryanwordd/2012-02-01182213.jpg?t=1328283069
Selling the Flares & Lip package in the for sale section
http://mazdaroadster.net/showthread.php?1513-Autokonexion-NA-Fiberglass-Flares-amp-Lip-Combo
Well guys it's been awhile. I got moved to Afghanistan and well getting on the internet is a bitch....anyways
I have some updates from my buddies back home in the states
Had some maintenance on my valve cover seal
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w276/ryanwordd/011.jpg
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w276/ryanwordd/007.jpg
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w276/ryanwordd/014.jpg
And that's pretty much it. I'm almost done with what i want to do with the car.
It will be getting a real paint job in July & my planet-miata side skirts will be mounted along with the long list of parts mentioned above.
---
Now i've got a completely different plan for the car once i get back this summer. No longer going to Turbo it, or pretty much add speed lol. I'm buying a 1990 BMW E30 325is when i get home (and no i'm not going to "slam" it or boost it or anything. It's got 90,000 original miles and comes with a back-up engine (M25) and transmission. I plan on that being my OEM reliable car (not that miata won't be) but you know.
Anyways guys you'll be seeing me around this summer and hope you'll enjoy
later
Okay without any more delay I'm back stateside for about 2 weeks now. Finished the year long deployment and ready to jump in on the miata finally.

You know, I JUST said to one of my friends yesterday, "I really can't decided whether to stay red when I get the car resprayed, or go with something different... perhaps orange."
You, sir, have done a fairly good job of answering that question for me.
copy and paste from Clubroadster.net to keep you guys updated.
Added Moss Turn signal intakes, Miata Roadster hood rise kit (it finally got my hood closed!!!! thanks JSanker for the heads up!
rollbar is white now, added some 94 seats that i traded with _spyder for
stupid topspeed exhaust lost both of the flange bolts so my miata sounds retarded
and got rid of those cheap ass lugnuts and got some locking ones that don't stick out.
Raised the rear coils about 15mm to help the spring not act like a little punk
overall good week and happy with the miata at the moment

Everything looks really good. Almost looks like it had a rebuild not to long ago, but I never take chances, so it will be rebuilt. And completely degreased and valve cover painted, etc etc
Anyways I have a lot of cool shit coming my way in the coming weeks, and I hope to have this new engine, and newly rebuilt 5spd in at the end of september or early october.
Edit: Also Adding a 1.8 rear end, Torsen LSD, CV axles, Driveshaft.
more engine cleaning...its coming along.

Put them together today and tested it out

Thanks everyone looking forward to get things moving with the new engine. Still enjoying the 201K motor in it right now.
Getting the Megasquirt roughly the week of the 20th, engine will be put back together before then, gotta order the Toyota Throttle Position Sensor still, waiting on the OBX Fuel Rail to get in, and Project G sending me a 93' Harmonic Balancer.
Gonna be an expensive month..haha
Then tune date set for when everything is put back together at Motion Lab Tuning in Charlotte, NC
Did you order your new front bumper at a local dealership?
yeah man, if i remember correctly it was roughly $300 (might be on one of the older pages on here). came with no hardware and had to re use all the hardware from the old bumper.
test fitted today, still awaiting many parts/gaskets/seals and ordering the MSPNP this weekend

finished product (shitty cell pic)
http://oi48.tinypic.com/2vtz9ms.jpg
I recommend this product to anyone who wants to clean up their tail lights (I don't know about the head lights because I didn't use it for them). But, I barely used a quarter of the bottle for both tail lights and third brake light and i've never "buffed" or "polished" anything before and it looks great. Just used my cheap ass B&D electric Drill and took all of 15 mins.
Order 4 things from Moss Miata like 2 days ago and already got everything!
http://oi46.tinypic.com/1o0ej6.jpg
Hawks rear pads, leather OEM shift boot, and 2 competition motor mounts
going to start ordering more stuff from them in the future.

Other news, jumped on a sick eBay deal with a bunch of nice interior parts. So be expecting a change interior soon. Also I snapped one thread off a camshaft case bolt (thankfully not the head of the bolt), so no progress on the engine as of yet.
Okay so here is an actual picture update...

No More Hood Risers (http://www.flickr.com/photos/aabic/8048524374/) by Ryan.C.Davis (http://www.flickr.com/people/aabic/), on Flickr
I am tired of explaining that my hood is not broken, so i removed the risers and will live with this dumb ass gap.
Also. Bigger news Got my new interior. I saw this deal on eBay for Interior pieces and got a group deal (minus the main carpet) for $450 shipped! So new panels, 91' tan glove box, rear shelf carpet, seat covers (still _spyder's seats just new vinyl), the carpet behind the seats & amazon Miata specific floor mats. I think that this looks absolutely awesome with the black carpet, and black dash. There isn't too much tan or mismatched look to it. I feel it balances out quite well and I don't know why people get rid of tan interiors, because they look so good with red cars.
http://oi49.tinypic.com/29ma9hs.jpg
also I did the foam cutting thing for the seats and they feel awesome. My head is actually under the rollbar for once...not bad considering I'm 6' 3"

My Autokonexion ver 1.5 trunk (I know super original right?) is off at the paint shop, the duckbill on that trunk is so damn sexy and I love the look. I look forward to getting back on friday and already removed the trunk springs.
and here is the old engine. Completely unbolted (minus the trans and motor mounts) just trying to get some bros to come over this weekend to finally pull it out.
http://oi47.tinypic.com/fdubv8.jpg
Just got these in the mail. OEM clutch and Flywheel. The Exhaust Wrap that Rev suggested on his build thread and a quart pump for adding Redline gear oil to the diff and tranny
http://oi49.tinypic.com/n1cbya.jpg
I got the Autokonexion Trunk (Ver 1.5) back from the paint shop today...Still have some body lines to attend to, but you get the gist. Looks awesome and feels way more sturdy after being painted.
Also installed the exhaust wrap blanket that Revlimiter suggested on his build thread.
order here its on sale right now w/ amazon prime

Engine removal starts tomorrow. Wish us luck.
Thanks guys, really happy with everything so far....wish the Engine Builder had more free time to work on the motor, but it hasn't even been torn down yet...
Okay So the engine is out, and i've begun to clean and paint the engine bay.

I bought some Yellow Duplicolor Tire paint from Amazon and painted the letters on the tires...Im extremely happy with the results. Really up close kind of looks like butt, but standing distance looks spot on! Recommend the product for sure. Takes an awfully long time to paint though.

Also I finally received my GRIP Royal Grain Steering wheel....This thing looks so fucking dope! I couldn't be happier with the quality, price and style of it. It looks and feels so good in the car. Obviously I can't drive right now, but with me being 6 foot 3 it gives me ample knee room and creates a great view of the dash (unlike my old NRG 330 D-ring)

And as to the progress on my engine, it is almost done. I'm starting to feel like I may be on the road before January...hopefully
Anyways thanks for checking it out and hopefully I can get some better pics soon.

thanks man looking forward to getting everything running and still waiting on TunerShop to send my lips....they were supposed to be here the 27th, but I haven't heard anything yet. Still awaiting a reply from them as well as REV9 on something I purchased back on Dec 11, worth the wait though.
Well some nice progress for once.
We tried getting the engine in on thursday and had some issues but we went back at it today and got everything bolted up and mounted correctly.

bought these from a company called PURE Motorsports, in San Diego
good prices for BBS Badges
Well I still suck and haven't really made any new progress, blah blah busy with school blah blah first world problems, but I finally did something that I've been pushing to the last second.
The radiator is in along with the fan shroud and fans (finally wired it up last night) No pics as of now.
But I went to the local pull a part (Charlotte people if you need any engine parts for a 90-93 there is white 1991 miata on row 108) and found a 1995 lexus LS400 which has the same wiring harness connecter that I needed for the Throttle Postion Sensor on the AE101 Throttle Bodies

BBS update next time, and who knows maybe a damn startup video! (that would be nice)
Until next time
Lol I swear I'm going to have a decent update soon.
here's a little video (No start up, no noise, just got the ITBs connected to the gas pedal now)

picked the BBS RMs up from the paint shop, really happy on how they came out I'll post pics when I get the Dimple Rings back and the centers painted.
I've got oil in the engine as of today, all the old fuel has been drained, Coolant ready to go in, and I am about to get rid of Power Steering I think, I broke a bolt head on the part that tightens the belt to the harmonic balancer....So I'm debating on whether I will just removed the P/S or not.
Only wire that remains to be grounded is the starter, and I am going to go buy a new battery since the old one I have has been inactive for the past 4-5 months.
Damn I hope I get this thing started before next weekend
Until next time
And sorry for the mass posting....but here we are as of present day 30Jan2013
Hey thanks guys.
Got the rear wheels torqued down today and a little test fit
So fucking happy with them. "Yeah, but BBS RMs are so played out...why are you doing them? should have gotten different wheels" well shut up, I'm fucking stoked to own some.

Looking good! That is a Great friend to build the car while you are deployed!!!
thanks man, while I was gone back in 2011 it was sure nice seeing my buddies stepping up and throwing on the stuff that I ordered.
(by the way most of this thread was copied from CR.net)
but that was all the suspension, radiator, stuff not the engine and etc
Picked my wheels up from DJ Powdercoating in Kernersville, NC (about an hour thirty from Charlotte) and God damn they did a great job. $55 a wheel and cleaned up a lot of the imperfections in the wheel...less talk more pics
Color is Pearl Gold. It's great, dark in shade and bright in the sun.
Ah and I will be adding 3" lips to the wheels, so all the wheels will be 15 x 9 +1 offset

Love it!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for nice compliments dudes, I hope to have some progress on the wheels mounted and other stuff before the end of next week..We'll see how motivated I am to work on stuff this week.
Well I'm sure some of you figured out what was happening when those tires got mounted...so yes I've jumped on the Flares bandwagon and got them.
Couldn't be happier, got my alignment today and the car has never felt better.
The whole stretched tire, low stuff was fun, but I am really enjoying how the car responds and feels.
I can't wait until Spring to try out some autocross and track days.
Less talk and here's the picture. I'll have more in the next days after Cars & Coffee on Saturday Morning (Hope to see some charlotte area dudes there)

The 15x9's with +1 fill out that flare perfectly! I have been looking for an example of exactly that flare/wheel size/offset! Beautiful transformation. Thank you for sharing.
