Still confused, clutch burn after slave cylinder replaced

So a soft clutch lead to replacing my slave cylinder. Afterwards I could smell the clutch burning and the car seems to have about 80% power. Im pretty sure I have the right part. The engagement point of the clutch seems to be higher back (further from the floor) than before (now it engages at the point right before I take my foot off, it feels too high). I dont think I have bubbles in the cylinder because, according to my logic, that would make it engage low not high. My guess is that my new slave cylinders piston arm is too long to release the clutch rod fully but like I said I believe I have the right one so why is this happening?

Replace the master.

I would replace both cylinder & slave at the same time or one will cause the weaker plunger to leak.

Master has been replaced now and clutch IS STILL BURNING, ugh, also while I was looking at the clutch pedal I noticed that the white plastic rod attached to it broke. Is it possible something is wrong with the clutch that was masked by the old slave cylinder? What else could it be?

I believe that is the interlock safety switch. No effect on clutch operation. Either you have air still in your system or your clutch is done.

After re-bleeding, try as suggested above to adjust your clutch pedal.

Yeah I think I want to bleed it one more time to make sure after driving it around. Ill also adjust the clutch and get back to you.

You might still have air in the lines. Use a one man bleeder to help speed up the process because these procedures can take a while without one. The clutch should feel better as you bleed more air out.

Ok so I bled it again and the clutch pedal is feeling back to normal, however the clutch smell is still there. Its not as overpowering as before, its gone away a lot, but I can definately still smell it.

So cast your votes. Should I:
-Keep driving it, see if it goes away and hope I dont ruin a perfectly good clutch.
-Replace the slave cylinder with another one of another brand and see what that does.
