Nice work as always Steven! And I really like the look of the numbers as well!
I've been happy with the Centric products for nearly 10 years. They did a nice job working closely with top Miata vendors to give us good products at very good prices.
Put on an HPDE at Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval on Saturday. We ran 1pm to 10p, yes, part of our fun was under the big lights. Big time speed, hot day. I still got out for a few sessions between taking care of our guests.
Tradd’s Photos sent me this teaser tonight. Looks like the first evening session, about to enter the front chicane, off NASCAR turn 4. With a draft, I was around the top of fifth gear between NASCAR turns 3 & 4, somewhere around 120 mph.
More pics coming.

Whatever.
I drove my Soul to Walmart in the rain and got an extra large, Sam’s Club Hawaiian pizza with a half-off yellow tag but whatever man. I guess you win the Internet or something.

Alex, you would be happy to know some of the Camaros and Vetts were touching 150+ out there. All those Vettes traveled further rolling off their trailers than yours has in the last year. ;)
Had some fuel smell in the cabin, particularly if I crack the windows open. It happened on the freeway between Atlanta and Charlotte, again on the return. I added this 3 foot x 6” exhaust wrap to try to prevent the exhaust from heating up the fuel tank and rear floor section.

I test fit the blanket, finding a place to start. In my case, just rearward of the second O2 sensor, right near where the stock shielding ends.

The missing clamp is where the midpipe resonator was, clamp wont reach around that. No big deal.
After threading all the clamps on, I positioned the blanket into place and used an impact driver with a 7mm socket to take up the slack on the clamps in stages, tightened them a bit, adjusted the blanket, moved down the line, rinse & repeat. Pretty straight forward.

Make sure to check the clearance of your driveline with the blanket.
Mine should also keep the diff and trunk a little cooler too.
Two years apart, same track:

Nice to meet you out there!
According to my datalogger, I managed a 128MPH top speed (with a very good draft) and a 117MPH top speed without a draft. Best time of 1:41, with average laptime in the 1:42.50 range. Plenty fun, and very nice track facilities out there in NASCARland.
Same! I hope you enjoyed the day! Sorry I didn't have much time to talk, my role as ops director keeps me busy.
Mid-season refresh. Lubed the front sway bushings, bled the brakes, slider maintenance, and new wheels(!):

Looks real good! I like this version where you are leaning more towards daily duties and not the full track version. You actually kind of steered me towards that as well before when we were going over what the car would be used for predominantly.
Looks so good!
Much appreciated! It looks better than those photos. The metallic finish and color pulls out the tones in the white. Chaste White is more of a milk white where Crystal White is more of a paper white. You can see the difference in the hardtop (crystal white).
It really gives the car a presence with the red interior showing through the glass.
It is starting to look closer to the initial concept I modeled up almost 2 years ago.

Time to get the hardtop painted soon to match.
I have been a lot happier with this car day-to-day because I have been using measured approach to keeping it true to its purpose. :)
