Thanks Randy, my build has definately been a long time coming. I can't wait to see your Nopro come together.
Tried to do some work today, tried being the operative word. Was going to mod the trans tunnel so I swapped the wire wheel on the angle grinder for a cut-off. Switch it on and nothing, it's dead. Ok, I'll just use my air metal saw which makes cleaner cuts anyway, plus no sparks bouncing off me. That was going ok until my compressor started overheating and shutting down  so now it was really slow going waiting for it to kick back on. While waiting I decided to use my Dremel to make a small plunge cut. Get one done, then move to the other side. Switch it on and you guessed it, no dice. Wtf 2 cutting tools dead in 1 day :? But wait, that's not all... go back to the metal saw after the compressor's full and hwar a hiss. Track it down and there's a blister and leak in the hose
That was time to call it quits, didn't want to push my luck anymore. Guess i know what I'm getting for Father's Day now.

Love the wheels! Clean car

I've been waiting for some parts and getting a couple little things done. I decided to depower my steering rack in the mean time. And then ...

That doesn't look right :wtf: It's bent so much i can't even pull it out. I hardly drove it since buying it, I guess I'm lucky I didn't. No other damage anywhere in the area so I can't even guess how it happened. Time to wait for another part :/ but i do have time though, not going to be working on the car for the rest of the month.

Sent an email to Project G Sunday morning and got a reply Sunday night. Sent a paypal early Monday and it was shipped Monday afternoon and in my hands on Wednesday :burnout: Oh, and they had the best price by far. Highly recommended!
A couple surprises out of the box and it's even nice and clean :)

Much better looking.

Since it arrived so quickly I had a chance to finish the depower. Exploded view.

A couple notes beyond the basic FM instructions. The locking washers that hold the tie rods on are $8 each. It might be possible to remove them without destroying them. If not, it's $8/side. Also the big locking nut is like 1 5/8" so make sure you have a big enough wrench before you start. Mine only went to 1 1/2". Other than that it's very straightforward.
Nice sealess shaft.

Just waiting for the plugs now.

Very nice ride. If you don't mind me asking, what is your wheel setup size/offset wise? Also what size spacers if any are you running?
-
Thanks. Specs are all listed in post #1, 14x7 -6 and 14x8 -19, 205/55/14 Nt01.

Oops! Sorry I must have gotten so wrapped up in the pics that I missed that, lol!

It's been a little longer of a break than I had hoped but that tends to happen. Plus there was a mix up of some parts ordered. While waiting for that to be worked out I decided to work on the new fuel system.

I'm just about finished, only need to do the ends when everything is in place.

I was getting ready to install the tranny and another setback, 9 stitches in my thumb :fp: Don't fight with a utility knife, you'll lose. Dont be lazy and use the proper tool.
Next update when I get off the DL, hopefully a couple weeks.

Love it! Sorry to hear about your thumb. I put a nice 1" gash in my pointer finger when installing my radio last weekend. Stupid mounting strap is stupid sharp. My finger is held together with superglue. :)

Seen pics of this car floating around. That Stack Cluster looks really awesome!
Will keep my eye on this one

Great build! love seeing people learn as they go and built cars themselves. also god those stack clusters are nice!!

Thumb is good enough to grab stuff, so it's back to work, a little. Got the tranny mount in that I sliced up my thumb on and the frame rail braces. Still don't have full range of motion, so it's slow going.

I really need to do a little cleaning, but I'm running so far behind that I'm trying to be as productive as possible. Next week I need to mount my new radiator setup. Looking for some fans too, that dont cost $200+.

I still want to see this machine.
Hit me up sometime if you ever want help wrenching on it.

Thanks for the offer! There's not much to see right now but maybe during final assembly in a little while. :8):
