NA6CE 1992 Form vs Function Build and History
I don't replace them. I use an impact wrench to pull them down. If the splines are biting into the spacer, it's good. Reverse, I back the long bolts out to make sure the threads are clear, then re-thread them in until the bolt heads are about 3/8" inch below the bottom of the PPF and hit the heads with a mallet. That pops the captive nuts out the top. This isnt't a concours build, never will be. Never had an issue reusing them. This is the fourth time the diff has been R/R'd on this car.

Charlotte Motor Speedway was awesome! I wish I had more time to talk to Anthony, but with three run groups I had less time between sessions. I logged about 130 minutes of seat time and had a blast!
We ran 95% of the NASCAR oval, diving in to the infield road course before Turn 1 and exiting that back onto the oval's Turn 2. It was a lot more technical than I was expecting. The oval, well I have a lot more respect for the NASCAR drivers. It wasn't as smooth as I was expecting, more bumps and undulations than other NASCAR tracks I've been on (MIS and Autoclub).
In my car, 1.6 with a 5sp and 4.3 rear, I was grabbing 5th gear at 7100 RPMs just before entering the oval's Turn 3 around 100mph or so, diving low towards the apron on Turn 4 and the accelerator flat on the floor exiting. The fastest I saw was 115 mph through the dogleg at the start/finish flagging tower. After that, it was hard on the brakes to dive into the roadcourse and catch everybody who passed me (in more powerful cars) on the oval.
I had a few faster guys following me just to watch my lines on the infield and my braking point coming off the oval. I was braking way later than more cars on the oval it spooked a few cars following me. :) I surprised a 370z who passed me at 100+ because he lifted and began braking early for the roadcourse. I was still flat on the floor in 5th :)
I passed a few Challengers, a Corvette, Porsche Boxster, Impreza RS, and a few other other in the roadcourse. If I defended my line, I hardly used my brakes through there.
When the night came and the lights turned on, it was super-surreal and the sensation of flatout speed was amplified by the shadows and glare of all the lights, but it was also cool as hell!
I was still only on my 195/60-14 Falkens.
The car only used 8 oz of oil in all that wide-open,high RPM, rev limiter-banging driving, I was very pleased.

The drive to and from Charlotte was also a breeze with the air conditioner and cruise control working great. I hope to have pictures soon!
