A little late to respond, but I went to a meet on Treasure Island a few months ago and I met a guy that knows the guy that bought that specific car. At the time he said that they were working on trying to get it fixed, I am not sure if it is still in the works or scraped. I don't remember the guys name... but yes it is some where in Northern California... hopefully in good hands.
where can I find those hood belt latch system. it looks pretty cool
I just sold my bug-eye to a friend. He should have his car painted soon.
JDMP, you should post pictures of your collection in the rare parts thread.
Just to my everybody jelly, because I know I definitely would be.
Phatmiata, how do you like those TruckLite LED headlights? I have been contemplating getting a set of those for my 92...they seemed a little heavy - I assume you have no problems with the headlight motors lifting and holding them in place?
I can chime in on this one, as I have had the Phase 6 lights as well as the current Phase 7 lights. They are definitely heavy compared to traditional sealed beam and ecode headlights. The headlight motors have no issues raising/lowering them, but I have found that headlight "shake" (from the car's vibrations and from hitting bumps) when the lights are up is a bit worse than otherwise. I think largely it's due to worn hardware and components allowing more flex than there should be, since the passenger side doesn't flex much at all but the driver side shakes a lot. It's a little bit annoying, but it's not to be unexpected from a car that is 16+ years old.
Here is a new style headlight listed under the NA Roadster category that has been popping up in Japan recently.
