Gearing up the production line if this turns out WOW?
Peace Paul.
Thank you! Im surprising myself on this so far.
Guess it would be cool to somehow make more of them if people like them. I have never seen any one make something like this before. Could be wrong.
My car needs Adam's window switches back. They complete the look. I also want to keep the no console look. This is the compromise.
If it weren't for the gas lid lever I would have made this even shorter. Molded in the lid. Maybe only 3 or 4 inches long. The switches would be at the very back of the center hump mounted in a tiny console just big enough to hold the switches in factory mechanism.
Once this is one is finished, installed and working I will see about a way to do something different with the gas lever. Ill need the car in my hands for that rsther than in storage.
Maybe just a push-popper like some cars have. Or maybe relocating the lever. Has that been done?

Recieved a package from Adam today.
And what a package it was. It is hard to describe what it felt like finding and opening intricately wrapped and ribboned boxes that contain Miata parts. Packaging softened with shreds of red card stock paper and red & white tissue paper as if packaged by a Hallmark store expert.

It felt like I was opening a surprise gift from my middle school crush on Valentine's Day. Except I knew what was inside and I knew who it was from.
I almost felt bad opening everything it was so nicely done. But I needed to see what was inside.
Once opened I experienced more child-like happy feelings. In these packages was Revlimiter's Retro HVAC plate and Retro Window Switch.

If you've ordered from Adam before you know he tosses in a hot wheels car and some candy or some type of treat. He always goes the extra mile. This time he went 5 miles. Or more. Somehow he was able to include a custom Hot Wheels Dairy Delivery from his personal collection. What?!?! As a fellow customizer of hot wheels I can appreciate the value of a custom hot wheels piece. The time that goes into them is crazy. So much invisible money in just this piece. Love it.

So onto the Miata parts....
To go with my shortened custom center console Im building is a retro window switch with extended wiring. It is art. Apparently this is the first v6 frame he has put out. It is 3d printed and it looks great and feels solid & strong. Strength is actually important in this window switch. The frame on a previous version I owned actually cracked and broke. I ended up selling that one and missed these sweet switches. This 3d printed frame is solid and fits perfect.

The wiring is so pretty.
It could be my brain playing tricks but the anodized plate on the switch also looks better and smoother than my old one.
The silver UP/DOWN label seems to look better too.

Honored to have this piece. Glad I'm building a console for the sole purpose of rocking these bad ass switches. Hopefully my console work does this switch justice.

Forgot a photo of the HVAC plate but it is a clean piece that matches the window switch perfectly. And pre-taped. Attention to detail.
I wish my pockets were deeper so I could buy more from Adam more frequently and for more cars.
Thank you again Adam. Cant wait to install everything.

Not much of an update but another skim coat of bondo was laid tonight. Sanding tomorrow.
Should be the final coat before primer. Then I'll work on the inside/parts that arent seen from the outside.

Looks like a cool project. How do you plan to hide the holes in the carpet?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks man. Well the holes in the OEM carpet are covered by the GarageStar console delete carpet kit. I will need to slice through both carpets under this console to slide the switch wiring through. That slice would be hidden though.
I'm hoping the two layers of carpet (and sound/heat insulation to be installed this summer) will hide the wiring pretty well.
Thinking of ideas of how to mount the console securely. At first I figured Velcro might do. but Id like something more secure especially since this window switch is a first edition and was made for me. And since the car will sit occasionally outside with no top Id like it to be solid.
One idea is to JBWeld some 10mm nuts to the transmission tunnel and then use bolts through the console and carpet.
Hoping to get some sanding done on this thing tonight.
You might try nut-serts. They are like threaded pop-rivets. If you have a Harbor Freight store close they carry them along with the installer.
You would just drill into the tunnel. Rivet in the sleeves. And install your bolts.
HTH. Peace!
Send them to me via. PayPal and I'll pick you up something nice at 'Palooza as a surprise:mrgreen:.

Did a couple hours of sanding tonight. Probably needs another hour too but f it.
Covered it in a couple coats of primer shortly after this photo.
Will see what it looks like in the am.

Went ahead with priming and painting.

First coats of truck bedliner:

Should have done more sanding. And/or added some more bondo. And more sanding. Still might do that before its all finished.
This truck bedliner spray really looks like a good march to factory plastic. It will get a light satin black coat for final coat.

Tax return came back. First couple checks of the new year with new pay raise came back. Had some overtime money. Decided to bite the bullet and order some Miata stuff that I have been wanting for a long time or planning to do. Besides, it's my birthday; treat myself.
Figured Id give an update on things happening to the car so far in 2017
-Rev9 M2-1002 Pedals
-Zeromotive Blank Switch Plate
-Carbon Miata Door Handles, Cups, Locks
-Revlimiter Retro Shift Plate, HVAC Plate, & Window Switches
Now, MazdaRoadster, I need your help. What shall I get next? Looking for next purchase to be under/approx. $200.
-Circuit Sports Coolant tank
-Flyin Miata Shock Tower Brace
-Revlimiter Gauge cups (2 or 3) (would install clock and random gauge until TRUBO)
Going to update my "mods" list too.
1st or 3rd. 2-point tower braces don't offer much.
