Fitted my new super awesome customized stacked MOMO horn button from Adam to my Super Indy

Hard to believe, but it looks even better in person than in my crappy pics. Thanks again Peter and Adam!
Then test-fitted it to the car, using an NA MOMO hub.

Found out that the hub fits perfectly if you remove the clock spring. Given that my primary wheel will be the stock one (DD so I need an airbag), removing the clock spring every time I want to swap wheels is a PITA. Need o source a NB-specific hub now...daikei?

That list keeps getting better/longer, Harry! :drinkto: That Momo looks fantastic!! :slayer:

The perks of being a mechanical engineer with access to machinery include the chance to make your own parts (when work allows for some free time). So, behold my own take on door bushings.

Not much to it, just measured the OEM cup and had a friend machine a few sets in Derlin. Surprised on how well these work even in an NB2 with all the bracing available from Mazda installed (plus a HT). They give a nice, solid feeling to the car, albeit they do nothing for stiffness (obviously).
Been working quite a lot in designing some more parts/projects lately, so it will be fun (if time allows it!)

Nice work, Harry! :drinkto: If you were close(r) I'd see if I could buy a set off you but shipping would probably cost as much as they are from a vendor stateside. :fp:
-
Thanks Chad! Availability (and having fun) is why I decided to do it in the first place, as shipping from US for a GarageStar set would cost quite a lot.
-
Looks good Harry! I envy you having access to machinery to be able to make parts that you need!
-
Nice job Harry, looking good.

Been working a LOT lately, anywhere from 12-14hrs/day including weekends. Fortunately this saga stopped yesterday, so I got some time to register in postimage and transfer my build thread pics there. Starting from the most recent ones, plan to go backwards and fix this thread.
Also let some steam off by buying more parts, will have updates as soon as they arrive!
Finally, I have booked the car for a full respray at the end of August, and will send my wheels off for a refurb next week. Polished barrels with powdercoated centers in a matte/satin finish. Sneak peek at the selected colour:

Speaking of, teaser pic of the wheels. Satin clear coated (bottom) vs. original matte finish (top). Thinking I like the bottom one more, but I would love to hear more opinions!

If you EVER decide to sell that Momo Futura wheel, let me know!!! I've been on the hunt for ages!! Great updates Harry!
-
Thanks Steve! Have been looking for one myself for quite some time, it was Paulo who notified me of one being auctioned, and I jumped in. Was not cheap, but its condition is awesome, so totally worth it! Not going to sell it anytime soon, but I will keep an eye for you.

Just had some time to look at your build thread my friend ;) Your car is awesome, still a long way ahead of mine ;)
This momo futura is in perfect condition, hope you will enjoy it as much as i enjoy mine
-
I just had the time to go back few pages and look at some great parts you gathered in the last period, waitin for some cool pics of the car with updates!
-
Wow, thank you both! Paulo, not true, but it is a good base to eventually become something to my exact taste ;)
Plus, I really enjoy the process!
P.S. Cannot thank you enough for the tips on the steering wheel, loving it to bits!
