Should I stay or should I go now?
If I go there will be trouble
An' if I stay it will be double
So come on and let me know

Ugh, freaky shit
That's why I'm crossing the country
Vapor images yo ...............
Can you feel it, nothing can save ya
For this is the season of catching the vapors
And since I got time, what I'm gonna do
Is tell you how this spreaded throughout my crew

Crap. Hope it all goes well, stay safe my friend!
Hey guys. Hope you guys stay safe. Take care and don't be a hero. If they tell you to go, go.
Might be headed down there to help family, wish I was visiting for better reasons. Might take the wagon, but looking into renting an SUV or van, just in case. I hope my family there makes a decision sooner than later.
Yeah, I've got an open door policy on the house for friends/family, even though I won't be there. GTFO if you gotta
A lot of Floridians are waiting to understand what the hurricane's path will be as it approaches the States.
I heard it could be within range of Florida by Sunday morning if that is the path.
When the Florida path is more defined it will be late in the game and gridlock may occur.
I say... prep the house Thursday morning then head out with Kirlin in tow.
Destination: Tail of the Dragon!
Maybe get Agent Orange to fire up the Vette too!
GTFO.
Better to have spent the money, time, and effort of getting out of town and to somewhere safe and end up not having had to rather than staying and hoping for the best and getting the worst.
I figure if you lived in the same place for a number of years in the hurricane States, you know if you're in a flood zone or not, or at least know what flood levels to expect in your immediate surrounding area. Use ya best judgement... or just GTFO anyways.
If it looks like Irma decides to ride up and hit NC like Mathew did last year, I'm heading out. My home was safe, but I was stranded for a couple days since both ends of my road were flooded too deep to drive through.
Being without power is one thing, not having the option to leave your home is another.
I've been through a few, but my family down there has seen 1 or 2, none were this powerful. I'm an amateur meteorology buff, and I don't think they understand the impact the projected path has. I would leave Friday at the latest because to me it's not about whether the house survives, but how long services will be down; days, weeks? Not to mention that projected path pretty much hits all major routes in and out of the state. I have room here at my home for them, even for an extended stay.
Be safe!!
As funky as NC can be, they always seem to have their shit together when hurricanes come. It baffles me how many people I know in FL that aren't concerned or plan to ride it out.
In other related news, a Miata buddy from St. Louis was on a cruise ship. It returned to port days early because of the storms. So, he's in Canaveral, getting a rental car to GTFO of there tonight. I offered free room and board to his family here on his way home.
Randy just keep you and your family safe. Do whatever you have to do in keeping the family safe. Whatever happens is really beyond all of our control when if comes to the storm and our possessions.
Goddammit, the jog to the west a little puts it right over my family there. :(
Randy, I sent you a PM about a place to stay if you are getting out of there.
