PUNCH BUG!

No punch backs!
Is that a Pinto a couple cars down?
About 5 years ago I used to commute to work 550 miles a week in this 73 Pinto.
It was a 1.6 liter stick-shift. With the non-powered rack & pinion steering it was actually fun to drive. With the low driving position, motor revving at 3,800rpms, 70 mph felt like 90mph !! It was actually one of the most reliable cars I ever owned.
So easy to fix too! I could adjust the valves in 20 minutes, tune-up in 10 minutes.
The wife had the blue one to the left.

Punch bug? It was always slug-a-bug when I was a kid. I'm a damn Yankee* so I guess that's the difference?
*Yankee - someone from the north; damn Yankee - someone who didn't stay in the north
Ah yes, "Slug Bug". So many (painful) memories of my older siblings punching me on the upper arms and thighs during our family roadtrips. I always got the middle seat with my feet on the transmission hump. :|
I still play this game with my wife, but she's horrible at it. I even pulled up behind a few at traffic lights, and she's staring right at one. I'll wait quite a few seconds before reacting, then she gets pissed. :p
Family priorities unfortunately, I'll be back though, just need to give it a little while.
Long time no post!
New wheels, previous tires swapped over & fender rolling after hours :slayer:
