1991 BRG SE #225 - Flyin' Miata Turbo & More: $15,000

1991 British Racing Green Special Edition #225 (of 4000). 5-speed manual, camel (tan) leather with all the options (power windows, cruise, headrest speakers, stainless door sills, Nardi wooden knob & handbrake, etc.). 56K 3-owner miles. Clean CarFax, NY Title (Maine won't issue past 20 years old).

Car made 205whp (compared to a stock 95) on a DynoJet. Only the best parts used throughout. Hardly driven since most were installed.

Why am I selling? I bought another one (a 1994 R in white) to repeat this exercise... and rather than swap parts I'd prefer to sell this one complete. My loss, your gain. Turnkey 200+hp that looks great and drives even better. I've had 3 Miatas, and this one is more enjoyable & a better drive than my previous 2004 Mazdaspeed (factory turbo) or my 2012 GT 2.0L 6-speed. It also makes more HP than either of those cars, and the turbo spool is instant from 3,000rpm onward.

*SSR RS Watanabe 14x6 et25 wheels SOLD Seperately. Daisy stockers are in good condition and have fresh BFG's mounted.
*Mirrors have been removed since pictures, originals included.
*Zoom Fuel Lid available for an extra $150.00
*SEM Interior Finish Paint in Camel will be included to refresh dash pad and other items which have faded.
*Tan Boot cover & full tonneau are included, and in great shape. Will need minor fitting due to rollbar.

$12,500. Take a look at '91 SE sales on BaT, then add up the list of NEW parts above, heck, even just the FM parts, and I think my ask is fair, if not low.

As of 1/1/18 the car is snowed-in. If you're local or visiting the Rangeley region, I'm happy to show the car, but my driveway is a bear and the lower garage has snow piled in front of it.

Bump! Still available. I keep seeing people on the pointy board all excited about $9-10K '91BRG's, there's at least $7K worth of near-new parts here...

I need new pictures of the seats. With time and heat, they've really tightened up.

That said, end-of-summer price drop that I'll likely regret. $12500. That's a full $2500 off, putting this car almost $4K under the one that sold on BaT this spring, which didn't have a rollbar or any mention of chassis, rear-end, or suspension upgrades.

Thanks Randy! I tried to "do it right" only cutting cost in a very few places (radiator from FM was silly money at the time, they're now less expensive).

If there were a no-cost-to-me option to remove turbo parts and replace with OE from your 1993 LE, where I recouped a reasonable portion of my investment and could then sell the car as stock again (minus the slot in the metal to clear the turbo) I might actually consider it. I no longer have my OE exhaust, and they broke a stud removing the stock headers...

It's honestly beginning to look like I'll have to keep/run it for another 50K and then sell, to justify my investment. I'm losing a pile of money at $12500.

Hayashi's would look good! The RS-8's have sold, they're in Florida now on a red NA. Car is currently on stock 14's.

Currently in the process of swapping the wheel back to stock, then the Momo Cobra/Eunos wheel will be for sale to pay for either a V35, Prototipo or Monte Carlo for the '94R. Still undecided on that one.

I heard that he and 225 made the 1200 mile trek from Maine to Ohio without issue (or a speeding ticket!).

I've told him about the site and encouraged him to check in. I'd love to keep tabs on his progress with the car (I left him with paint for the dash and crash pad, and a few ideas for little things I had hoped to do but never got around to).

I'll also be selling my 1994R, and I've put a deposit on an 11K-mile 1991 crystal white with a hardtop. The plans for the 1991 are rather ridiculous... but I'm writing it off as a well-justified midlife crisis. More to follow on that, and maybe a proper build journal, too.
