After what felt like the longest winter ever, we finally had some sun in England today.
I managed to get the some washing and polishing done and also fitted one of my carbon cam pulley covers.

I ordered a single 205/45 tyre last week to test fit on the new Emotion wheels, just to see how it would clear the arches. I managed to get the tyre fitted today and then bolted up to the car when I got home.

These wheels sit 8mm further inboard than the Equips, so I figured I could use the 205's instead of stretching a set of 195s on them. They fit perfectly, exactly as I had hoped.

Now, I know I brought these to use during the winter months, but... damn they look good. A completely different look for the car, I think I still prefer the Equips though. What do you think?
I prefer the Emotions. I always felt like Equips belong on boxy 80's cars.
The Emotions don't look bad but i prefer the Equips on your car also!
IMO I prefer the equips. either way you've got a winner though.
Personally it's the Emotions.. just never "felt" the Equips.
Much prefer the equips. The fact that the emotions don't have a lip or anything make the wheel seem big and disproportionate to the rest of the car. I do however love the bronze/black colour combo
Totally agree with you Steve and Pete, The Emotions look bigger on the car because of the lack of lip to them, also the face of the wheel is smaller on the Equips.
I still definitely prefer the Equips, they suit the car much better in my opinion. The large polished lip and machined face really brings out the small chromed OEM pieces on the rest of the car. The style of them works nicely the early 90's theme I am going for too. I have always like the Emotion wheels and haven't seen any in bronze on a black NA before, I was sure I would like them, but was very pleasantly surprised when I fitted one up.
The other big thing I have noticed when changing them over is how much lighter the Equips feel compared to the Emotions, considering they are the same size wheels. By no means are the Emotions heavy, but never really appreciated how light the Equips are.
Any way, we are back on the Equips now and ready for summer!

This old guy votes for the Equips, Sexy!
The Emotions makes it look like a track car waiting for some aero, a single racing seat, and a gutted interior!
Received the final piece to my brake upgrade puzzle today :slayer:

They are a set of Wilwood PowerLite calipers, to go with the Flyin Miata brackets, Genuine Mazda 1.8 discs, Wilwood BP20 pads and HEL lines. I will get them fitted over the next week or so, I am excited to swap out the stock NA6 brakes!
About a year ago now I got hold of my Garage Vary type 1 bonnet, it was in pretty bad shape. Completely smashed across the front, pieces missing, damaged back corners from storage and the latch had been ripped out, also it had been badly sprayed matt black.
Well after many months of careful work in my spare time, I have completely finished the restoration and fitted it! I did all the work myself, and was easily over 100 hours work, but worth every moment to bring this bonnet back to life and continue its journey.

From the outside there is absolutely no sign there was ever any damage at all, the shapes were very hard to get correct again because the top surface is one large swooping curvy shape with very subtle lines and shapes in that have to be perfect when painted gloss black.
I did plan on leaving the inside in the gelcoat/fibre glass finish, but didnt like that you could see the repairs, even though the surfaces were completely smooth and correct, so I painted inside too. I left the area under the rain cover unpainted so the logos etc are all still intact.
The finishing touches were using the OEM hose clamps and 90 degree angle, they were modified slightly and then I made little mounting plates to attach them to the underside of the bonnet. I like that I can still use the OEM pieces inside. And then I made a titanium prop too!

A-we-so-me! Just posted a question on the photos thread asking what bonnet is that :P
Looking good Ben. I would like to know the meaning behind まっくろ Eunos out of curiosity though? Unless I have missed it further back in the thread. Also... are those horse pens?
Jealous of the GV Bonnet (Hood) though
