Yeah, I don't get on the forums so much these days. The PhD sucks up most screen time, and the farmhouse renovation takes the rest, but I thought I'd pop by to share proof of life.

I had a full seam weld done, the side louvres integrated into the body and connected to the engine bay, the fenders pulled, the car painted, new UV and IR-cut windscreen installed, all new...
Of course, for those of us who've dropped orders of magnitude more cash on our cars than we could ever get back in a sale, the "RS" stands for "real suckers".
Define "reasonable", please. I am friends with the Aizawa crew and they've done all the work on my car. I can ask for you but I need to know, should the piece even be available, what your limit is,...
Nah, go with the BFDH.
I paid $1200, shipped to Japan, for nine gauges (two large, seven small), with two sets of faces, one set in black, one in white.
Consider SpeedHut gauges--you can can any gauge you want, and you can supply any design you want. I replaced all of mine, including tach, speedo, etc., with them. One neat thing about the speedo is...
Heavy? ;)
I think that's down to customer spec. Mine started from the same basic F-Type seat but I don't think mine could be described as indistinct.

I did the same thing; had Type-F seats, had Nakamae-san re-shape the headrest and then cover in quilted leather. Top-shelf, for sure, but they also cost $5K for the pair.
I think a lot of it depends on what you call vintage. I'm not being cheeky here; what I mean is, the NA harks back to the '60s British vibe very easily, but I don't think the NBs do that as well. It...
Tan is somewhat less common than black, easier on the ass in summer, too. That said, I think either should just be an inflection point on your way to a full custom interior.
There are two sections that are plastic still, and all the trim buttons, of course. They were painted by RS Aizawa but I don't know what type of dye/paint they used, honestly. They're holding up...
As for Tokyo shops, there is Car Make Corns (東京都江戸川区 西瑞江4-1-1), in Chiba there's RE Amemiya (千葉県富里市七栄439-10), in Saitama there's Garage Vary (埼玉県和光市下新倉5-18-21), and in Kanagawa there's RS Aizawa...
Another thought: surely there must be a badass custom shop in SoCal who could do everything you want, to any style??
He prefers seeing the car and person he's going to work with in person; that said, if you've an intriguing build planned and cash in hand, he might take it on. Prepare yourself, however, as a full...
Is he still making parts? He'd told me when he finished my stuff that he was getting out of the parts business...
I've never seen any Nakamae gear in stores here, actually. I drove down to Osaka to meet him when he agreed to do all the work I wanted, and then he sent all the finished pieces up to RS Aizawa to...
Both, actually, though I am out of the classroom as of this year.
I can ask about having Nakamae-san do it; he did my Mazdaspeed seats beautifully. Two caveats: it took six months to have them done, and two, two seats (granted, with substantial metal frame work...
That's happened to a few Miata forums I've joined... must be me? ;)
Some more feedback: both my wife and I definitely noticed less drone on the freeway. The door blocks must've shifted the resonance frequency such that ~3K rpm no longer makes the doors sing. This has...
Of course mine just arrived three days ago, with a $25 shipping cost overseas. I should've waited but had no idea they'd be on sale, as popular as they seem to be! Installed them yesterday. My car...
I have that on a t-shirt from Blipshift!
May 2011 I bought a full set of V8R F/R control arms from FM. Recently I had a custom set of Ohlins shocks made for me and when we went to install them we noticed failed welds on the lower front...
