I knocked out the vent, tapped the hole and screwed in a bolt. Then drilled and tapped a new hole for an AN hose fitting on the side.

I'm thinking these are separate issues. Coolant is likely your heater core hoses. Check your footwells for any puddles or discoloration. Rough idle could be alternator, battery... something...

you have zero preload on your main springs in that picture. the only thing "loading" the main spring is the helper spring. I think youre entirely confused about what you want.

I'd use Mobil1 0W-40 or Shell Rotella 5W-40, only. I don't really consider Royal Purple a premium brand...
