    Oldekamp ('91 Silverstone, Netherlands)

    Hello,

My name is Oldekamp, I'm from the Netherlands, and drive this 1991 Silverstone. It was acquired in May of 2013, without MOT (or 'APK' as we call it). My father-in-law restored quite a few cars before (Fiat Spider, Fiat 500, Citroλn DS20, list goes on..). He offered to restore this Miata together, and we did exactly that. It's quite a long story, and it's been quite the process! It's been 'completed' for about 3 months now.. It certainly was an awesome experience driving it after having it in parts for over a year!

I'm wondering if I should make one big post in the Tech > Build section, or divide it into smaller posts. Tell me what you think.
This is a little shot of how the car looks as of right now:

Hi, and welcome! Your car looks great in that picture. I love Silverstone!

Yes, please post in the build section. You'll probably want to break up your story into several posts. I hope you took a lot of pictures during the restoration. We LOVE pictures here at MR.net

We have at least two other Dutchman here with Silverstones, Cermivelli and me.

Actually, Cermivelli was the one hinting me to take a look here, I will be installing his 'old' nostalgic panel in the near future.

Thanks for the friendly replies! I hope it'll be fun on here! I also worked on a build thread. I probably forgot about something, like the braided stainless steel brake lines I remember just now, but for today I'm really done typing..

    Windmills are nice, however...

My ancestors moved here a few generations ago. Both of my parents' ancestors were from the Netherlands so I'm about as Dutch as an American can get

I will end the thread hijack now

Funnily, I've heard some family (nephews and neices from my mothers' side of the family) of mine moved to the States and Canada. Also, from early on in my youth, it's been a dream to emigrate to the USA (maybe temporarily).

Also, thanks for the compliments on Grace. It is nowhere near the quality of 99% of the projects going on here, but I hope I'll get there one day, too.
