So, now that ive had my 1996 C-Package Miata for just over a year i figured i should start a thread about all its been through, But first a little back story.
I never intended to get a miata, i wanted to stick to my Hondas. I had a 1991 CRX that had a B18A1 stuffed into her and damn would she fly
Added the wheels when i bought it, had a OBX 3 inch exhaust, some killer suspension setup that the P.O. never told me specifics of.
Then this happend.
My brakes decided they wanted to lock up and get personal with an S10 Blazer T_T
2 weeks went by and this is where the story begins, I found my car with 91K, one owner (aside from the mazda enthusiast dealer), and a recent 90K service
The car remained stock until about December 2013 when my rear passengers tire decided to dry rot on me. So i did what any logical gear head would do and put my old rims and tires on from my CRX!
January rolled around and the weather decided for the first time in like 10 years it wanted to dump loads of snow on Central NC
Kotomi seems to be enjoying herself however.....
Like most other projects, builds, whatever you wanna call it, the add-ons and modifications just kept coming from this point on.
Late Feb. 2014, after seeing one on a fellow members car, i decided to invest in a GV Style Ebay lip and i was quite pleased with the results
Heres anouther pic from a local meet with anouther miata visiting from TN
Fast Forward to April 2014. While waiting for my next package in the mail....disaster struck. While driving to a job interview, i made a turn with a green arrow and an old man in a Jeep decided he wanted to stop me from doing so......this is the result....
3 Weeks passed due to the alignment shop dragging their feet on the car and the body shop wanting to get the paint absolutely PERFECT (which they did).
May 2014 arrived and the glass in my soft top (dealer i bought it from put an NB top on it) started to delaminate, so i ordered a Robbins Panorama to accomodate the OTHER package on its way. But first, instead of working on the car i was attending the local Anime Convention. For anyone that cares here is a photo of me cosplaying Kyubey and messing with some protesters
Here is anouther of me getting PWND by some Magical Girls
Here is pic i took of the car at the convention showing the body work
While at the convention, I spotted this Hatsune Miku/Vocaloid themed miata, that apparently attends all the Anime cons in NC
This inspired me to turn kotomi into an Itasha of my own, but to base it off the ever popular, Puella Magi Madoka Magica. So, i took a cell phone dangly i bought at the con and "installed" it haha
Charlotte, the dessert witch now rides with me where ever i go! HaHa!
Now back to the Car....immediantly after the con, my friend and i decided to install the package i had been feverishly waiting on...A Hard Dog Sport M2 roll bar
Immediantly after that i had the top installed, so here is both in one!
July 2014 rolled around and i took my 3rd journey to the sea with this car.
I did not get any by the sea, but this was one waiting on the ferry at the dock
And here is a little something to hurt some feelings while there ;)
August 2014, After doing a years worth of research, batting ideas back and forth, i decided it was time to get low. I did not, however, want to street sweep. I bought a set of Tein S-Tech lowering springs. I did this because i did not have the money for Coilovers and i didnt want to be HellaFlush, just a little lower to fill the wheel gap. I also discovered that my shocks were nearly brand new. Score.
The next day i continued with my Itasha-Style and decided to "install" my Kyubey plush i got at the convention in May.
The last week of August 2014 rolled around and my throw out bearing decided it wanted to become the next pop star and started singing.....
I logged onto MossMiata's website and bought an Exedy OEM replacement clutch....BUT WAIT! THERE WAS A SALE! We all know how that goes......
Can you guess what Shawn sent Kotomi-Chan?
Thats right! Moss' own TSI system!
They also came with a foot!
