    Ballpark Transmission Swap

Just curious, what's the cost of a ballpark transmission swap. Looking at pix of a very clean, low miles auto and was curious.

Have seen 4 cars so far. Two more tomorrow.

One we are seeing is a '01 auto. From the auto to a manual / just in general. Not sure it's worth it but just curious.

Not really, there are so many other cars out there, just wait to find the one you want.

An '01 makes it especially tricky because of the ECU & immobilizer. You will need the gearbox, pedal box, flywheel, clutch, clutch master cylinder, clutch hydraulic lines, slave, driveshaft (?), and wiring accouterments.

    I can't type early in the am! It's a 91 with 51,000 miles.

An auto/manual transmission swap is very doable, earlier years are the easiest to do, but, I don't think you want the hassle and possible headache of trying to do a swap. You should get one that you can get right into and enjoy.
The Miata is about the simple joy of driving. There are many Miatas out there, and their availability and price changes with the seasons. Be patient, and you'll get the right one.
