That ended about 3 hours prior to your post, but that's a good looking lot of wheels! Pretty aggressive bidding though...

Could also dye the paint, I've seen that done on some cars but haven't tried it myself yet. Keeps the tampos in place but recolors the car.
I've got a lot less horsepower - luckily they are Japanese horses - usually in better shape and more motivated.

thing is I really like the deco so I'd have to use some tape to mask over it all and I'm sure I'd end up with a patchy finish. I'm sure it will be repainted dark blue at some point I think if they have learned anything its that that mold is a gold mine for them.

Any tips/links on how to do this? (Apologies for laziness...I could just google it lol)

For Transformers and plastic toys you...

    1: Disassemble.
2: clean off the mold release. You very likely don't need to do this for Hot Wheels. You might give a test car a very quick dip in an acetone bath. Don't rub afterwards or the tampos will rub off. And this acetone bit is just conjecture.
3: Mix up a fairly strong solution of RITE dye.
4: Boil your toy in the dye.
5: Let it sit in the dye overnight.
    6: Clean off the toy.

Also, liquid RITE dye works a lot better than the powdered stuff. I get mine off amazon.

Thanks Adam for posting that, because honestly I haven't even looked up a how-to for Hot Wheels, I've just seen pictures of the finished products.

This is why I love this stuff. Thank you Adam and folks for the help. Ill try this on a ZAMAC car first. Now to look for liquid RITE dye.

Honest advice: try it on a crappy car you have 5 of and don't care about. That COULD be a Zamac, but... it could also be a pegwarmer.

Then the yellow Datsun 620 is one of the Kmart exclusive colors. There's a nice dark blue NSX concept car and then the VW Caddy.

Just read this, lol. Thanks for the heads up.

Found it in Target on some sad looking pegs. Was behind just one car. Not the greatest of $upers, but still a $uper, no complaints.

Stopped at a K-Mart too. Got a few cars there, but all the good stuff was gone. Really hoping those chrome Batmobiles start popping up more and in other stores.
