@Slipstreem I will write a few words woth some photos, but the original ideq belongs to Adam @revlimiter. He has a blog post about it, I'll find it and post it later, too.
Do you have a link to it? I'm wanting to do the same thing but don't want to order the wrong size!

Trace the shape of the duct, and cut your headlight cover.

Grind it, smooth out the edges, and make sure it follows the lines of the duct.

Drill some holes, if you wish to use screws or rivets (like me), or you can find some other way to keep it in place, with a cleaner look. I also used some body filler, because i wasn't so careful and damaged the paint in some places, this is the first coat.

Rivets in place, second coat of primer on.

Then you fill the gap between your curved headlight cover and the flat naca duct with bondo.

    "Finished" product.

I suck at paint spraying stuff. I will get the car proffesionally resprayed eventually, so I am not too worried. I am sure you can do better than me.

A word of warning though. The depth of the naca duct I purchased, wasn't allowing the modified headlight cover to be mounted properly. There is a bracket on your headlight assembly, that you have to cut. It doesn't affect the functionality of your headlight, though.

    Sure.

    http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...207345&alt=web

I have nothing to do with the seller, I searched ebay, found something I wanted and purchased it.

This particular guy is located in UK, which was a plus for me, cheap shipping and no import duty. You could find something equivalent stateside, I guess.

It seems like my builds are far in between but when I do go for it, I manage to pile a few things at once. In the last 4 days I was able to replace OEM seats for Mazdaspeed seats ( thanks Tim.) That one blew my suspension money. I installed my Zoom CF sideview mirrors, Revlimiter hazard/flip light toggle switch, LED gauges and Carbing front strut tower bar. Some pics here now I will probably go again into lethargy while I raise funds for the suspension.

Finally installed my wooden Nardi 365mm and went for a spin. I'm so fucking in love with this wheel. Even though it's huge, the thin rim, the 3 spoke design and the feel of the wood is unique. I've never driven anything like this.

Plus, I can finally see all of my cluster.

put some underhood lighting on the miata today, I can now check my oil in the dark with out using my phone as a flashlight. I used a brake light switch and have it wired so it turns off when the hood shuts and presses on it.
