96 Montego, replacing a 95M... I miss: My running peeps in Tampa, running barefoot @ Clearwater Beach and First Choice BBQ, in Brandon. In So Cal I miss: The Malibu Canyons, CA 33 and In & Out Burgers ! I'm from Tampa, if I was from Tampa Bay, I'd be a fish!
155hp in a ~2,300lb car (with the 2.0L) will be plenty for your average driver. I have a feeling a quick tune can net more ponies if the owner really feels the need. That or Mazdaspeed will lay their graceful hands on it and wow us. The latter coming around the same the MS3/6 are rumored to reach market.
just have to wait on the next turbo kit, or V8Roadsters kit

Let's see... it weighs the same as an NA6 but has 40% more power.
I'll take that.

Something as nimble as my NA6, a fully functional AC system, an up to date radio, and 40+ mpg make for a very inciting prospect.
~At least as far as I'm concerned.

My N/A BP already makes more than that. FRS keeps looking better

I can see this as a direct contender with the BRZ/FRS. It will be interesting to see how well the two compare especially in autocross. I really like how the motor is placed behind the front struts like the S2000. I'm looking forward to a test drive. Only questionable thing is the how the rear cuts off so abruptly like the original Z4, but I think that's a cool and different touch. Considering how light this car is compared to the other models and the moderate horsepower/torque, I think it will be more than enough to maintain that fun factor and push the car a little harder than your supposed to.

I don't think the traditional Miata buyer is a high HP buyer or else they would be buying a Mustang.
I'm pretty sure I heard that the Mazda engineers were trying to get back to what the original miata was. If they got rid of the bloat / weight, 155 N/A sounds great to me! There's definitely a need for a lightweight, rwd vert in the market that's nimble, not a pony car that makes tons of power but feels like its rolling with concrete in the tires.
2012: Purchased Miata, Laid off 3 days later. 4th place overall (default!), NWOR SCCA (RTR)
2013: Budget RTR build, massive increase in participation, 3rd place overall, NWOR SCCA (RTR)
2014: Suspension and more active competition in STS. 3rd place overall, NWOR SCCA
2015: Time for some "form" and vintage styling (while still racing NWOR, of course).

It's getting nothing but excellent reviews; I have yet to see one in person but I wouldn't mind taking one for a spin. I'd like to know what Mazda's sales target is for this model.
